Jalimon that is correct but not precisely correct. From the article you posted:

“For gin to be classified as gin, Juniper Berries need to be the main flavoring agent. It must taste predominantly of Juniper to be called a gin.”

So if the predominant flavor is Juniper then it’s made from Juniper. But what I had meant to say was predominant Juniper flavor.

Look behind you.
For the gin people. There is a craft place in BC that makes gin and vodka from honey, the craft place is called Wayward Distillation house. I have tried the vodka and rank it better than Grey Goose but do not drink gin.

If it is as good as the vodka it should be ordered.

You could always go very old school and get some genièvre (le gros gin). I find it way too heavy on the juniper, but I know people who like it.

I'm not a huge gin fan but I prefer Tanqueray and have tried different ones by that maker over the years. It's nice to drink it neat, with club soda, or use it to spice up a cocktail. Sometimes I add a tinge of Tanqueray to my scotch (various brands) and sip it neat. Tanquerary just has a special, sophisticated aroma and taste. No 10 is nice and the bottle looks cool.

I did end up buying Tanqueray London Dry Gin, which is imported, 47.3% alcohol, 94.6 proof, and distilled 4 times. Cost of 1 Litre bottle was $27.99. I hope he likes it.

^^^^^^ I have tried on various occasions to like scotch, still have not tried one I liked. The search will continue.

When I was at the liquor warehouse to purchase the London-style Gin, the salesman aggressively pitched various Scotch Whiskeys to me and a friend I was shopping with. He saw us go down the Scotch aisle (which was utterly coincidental, because we were going from the Gin aisle to the Sangria aisle, and we had to walk down the Scotch aisle to get from Gin to Sangria). We were not in that aisle to buy Scotch. Anyway, some of the Scotch they had was well over $100 a bottle; others were as cheap as $15. He seemed to have us pegged as mid-range Scotch buyers as he started hawking us on some Scotch that was going for $50 to $70 a bottle. We were polite and listened to what he had to say, then moved on and made our remaining purchases. At some point I told him we were not shopping for Scotch, just to avoid him wasting further breath on us.

What I gathered from him is that Single Malt is better as it signals that all the Scotch in the bottle comes from one distillery, whereas non-Single Malt Scotch is a blend of whiskeys of different origins, sort of a bastard as it were, whose parents may be unknown.
