What concerns you the most about Covid19?

You catching it and ending up in the hospital ?
A family member or loved one landing in the hospital ?
Dying of complications ?
Being on a ventilator for over a month.
Developing serious complications like a stroke, heart attack, pneumonia , amputation, etc.
Fear of the unknown.....there is so much that we don`t know yet.

For me its losing control of my mind.....nightmares and delirium that may well last long after the physical illness is gone.

As I worked in the scientific field, before I retire, I follow everything that happens with interest.

One important thing to note is the presence of social media which has amplified the amount of people who have no knowledge and who express themselves widely on these platforms.

All of these people probably increased anxiety in several cases.

I do my best to protect myself, and I sleep super well.

If we start thinking about all this, we will go crazy.

Patron it sounds like your brave new world is on life support and just barely alive. Not because of the virus but because of bad actors....really bad dudes called politicians.
Yes the US and others who followed the Donald into the abyss of dreamland and inaction, are in failed state territory..... but then how do you explain the success stories of New Zealand, Vietnam , Germany, Australia. South Korea and even the devil state China etc. etc.

Ben Franklin would probably tell a lot of people to STFU because your civil liberties do not supersede your duty and responsibility to a collective society and its safety. And then he’d probably bend em over his lap and get silly with a taser “Shit, why didn’t I invent this?”

There was no mixed messages just confused people. There were not enough masks, save them for the people who go to work and are dealing with this on the front line. Now, we have found out we can use that handkerchief some may bring out while stuck in traffic.

What concerns me the most: No being able to escape the 110+F Summer heat here in Phoenix like I usually do going to Canada for about 10 days at a time!

Even when (if) Travel restrictions lifted I am very cautious and will wait until the risk is much less from COVID-19 which may not happen till an effective vaccine is proven effective. So I am stuck in Phoenix, but enjoy my home and huge office with five large monitors so I am still very busy with business. Only go out about every 2 weeks for groceries!

I do have a business meeting in Toronto that has been twice postponed (CFPs) now set for December. I normally would not go to Canada in the winter. I had enough snow and cold when I grew up in Minneapolis! And my big winter coat I loaned to a friend who forgot to bring it back from Denver area! I have a client that is going to Denver by his RV for a wedding and he has offered to stop by where it is and get it back to Phoenix - just in case I tackle Canada in the winter!

For me the things that concern me the most is the gradual loss of our liberties and the slow move to a police state. Day by day the government is imposing more and more rules. They just announced mandatory masks in public transit. One more reason to never take the metro again. Casinos also mandatory masks and gloves and you got to make a reservation to play. The government does not stop with the over protection in the name of security. That scares me much more then some virus. The government said it is a pandemic and it became one. And sadly the pandemic will be over when the government says it will be over.

The pandemic will be over when the Rt value to O but most countries open up at about 0.8 or lower. This is called science. Your improper right to be maskless infringes on my right to be protected from your potential COVID-19 even if you do not know you have it. In the US the age of 18-45 is now the cause of the greatest increases in cases. This is a medical emergency where rules override your personal rights to not respect the safety of others and the community at large. I have a right not to be assaulted by your COVID-19 which is why you are required to wear a mask.

When you join the army and wear a uniform you surrender some of your civil liberties… this is why they are named civil the same for the school
