Just came out of the movie theaters and watched John Wick 4...

All I gotta say is...
Wow!!!
Greatest... Action... Movie....Ever!

I never seen so much violence & action in a movie in my life! Lol

Easily the best John Wick movie out of the 4 John Wick movies.

Check it out if you like action!
Now don't you dare and go reenact any of these scenes with an SP since your recent fascination with role playing.

I recently watched "WARHORSE ONE", I found it both full of action and compelling. I really enjoyed the storyline and the devotion, compassion that this soldier shows. I will definitely watch it again.

I watched The Flash and it was meh

The best part of the movie was Michael Keaton
The Flash was good, not great (maybe an 8/10 for me). Honestly I was expecting way more, given how certain people hyped it up (James Gunn, Stephen King, supposedly Tom Cruise, lol, etc.).

Michael Keaton was good, but at the same time they could've done so much more (ie. we "see" the OG Burton Batmobile, but he never uses it, etc).

Will watch OPPENHEIMER soon.....any comment?
Great movie...it lives up to the hype. Watch it in IMAX, if you can.

I'm expecting Nolan to finally get his Oscar(s) for best movie and best director for this. Ditto with both Murphy and Downey Jr. as well.

Overall, was a great summer for movies. Can't remember a summer that was so jammed packed. For me in terms of enjoyment/fun, the new Mission: Impossible and Indiana Jones were my favorites.

Time to put a little bit of romance in this thread

Portrait de la jeune fille en feu / Portrait of a lady on fire

This movie made me wish I could fall in love for the first time again. It just broke me and reduced me to tears of sadness and joy at the same time.

I wish I could erase it from my memory and watch it for the first time over and over again

Agreed, special movie. Also in the romance category, I quite liked this year’s “Past Lives”.

**Slight Spoilers**

Not sure, I'd call it a "romance" given certain things. If I had to summarize this movie, I think I'd say it's about "people changing". That conversation in the restaurant is probably the highlight of the film.

Was an interesting, but in a way sad movie.

True, it's an over-simplification to call it a "romance movie" alone. To me, it is, like you said, a movie about people changing (and, arguably, about how sometimes moving into a different socio-economic-political environment can help foster a greater expression of one’s potential and true nature), but central to the story, and what the movie spends quite a bit of runtime (and a leitmotif in "In-Yun") exploring, is how that affects the opening and closing of romantic possibilities/trajectories, so I think it is, at least in part, a romance movie, even though it's far from being a stereotypical Hollywood one (the ending was refreshingly non-Hollywood-like). Like you, I also found it to be a sad movie (hit pretty close to home tbh) and, yes, the restaurant scene was a standout.

But back to the topic, the new Fincher movie, “The Killer”, is an enjoyable watch, though a little cliche.
