I watched The Flash and it was meh

The best part of the movie was Michael Keaton
The Flash was good, not great (maybe an 8/10 for me). Honestly I was expecting way more, given how certain people hyped it up (James Gunn, Stephen King, supposedly Tom Cruise, lol, etc.).

Michael Keaton was good, but at the same time they could've done so much more (ie. we "see" the OG Burton Batmobile, but he never uses it, etc).

Will watch OPPENHEIMER soon.....any comment?
Great movie...it lives up to the hype. Watch it in IMAX, if you can.

I'm expecting Nolan to finally get his Oscar(s) for best movie and best director for this. Ditto with both Murphy and Downey Jr. as well.

Overall, was a great summer for movies. Can't remember a summer that was so jammed packed. For me in terms of enjoyment/fun, the new Mission: Impossible and Indiana Jones were my favorites.

Time to put a little bit of romance in this thread

Portrait de la jeune fille en feu / Portrait of a lady on fire

This movie made me wish I could fall in love for the first time again. It just broke me and reduced me to tears of sadness and joy at the same time.

I wish I could erase it from my memory and watch it for the first time over and over again

Also in the romance category, I quite liked this year’s “Past Lives”.
**Slight Spoilers**

Not sure, I'd call it a "romance" given certain things. If I had to summarize this movie, I think I'd say it's about "people changing". That conversation in the restaurant is probably the highlight of the film.

Was an interesting, but in a way sad movie.

The TV show Justified about a state trooper is a great cop tv show on FX that is great, ended recently but still awesome
Justified is actually about a US Marshal, not a state trooper. In any event Hulu recently released a sequel series called Justified: City Primeval. It's one season, 8 episodes. It's actually better than the original series, with a different setting. While the original Justified series is about US Marshals policing fugitives and various other redneck miscreants in a rural Kentucky county, the 8 episode City Primeval sequel takes place In Detroit, and focuses on the hunt for a badass fugitive from Oklahoma, who is extremely well played by Boyd Holbrook. Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, a highly effective, street smart marshal who is assigned to work with the Detroit police department in locating this dangerous fugitive played by Holbrook. Raylan is a huge headache for his bosses (and the Detroit PD) because of his failure to adhere to just about all protocols, but they put up with him because he closes cases with alarming and stunning effectiveness.

The original series is very good, and there are some very good actors in it, but I think the sequel is even better.
