The Last of Sheila (1973)
Great mystery thriller starring an ensemble cast including James Coburn, James Mason, Richard Benjamin, Racquel Welch, Ian McShane, Joan Hacket & Dyann Cannon. This is the movie which was the inspiration for both Knives Out movies. I’ve seen it several times & i still find it an amazing & very entertaining classic thriller! What’s amazing is that it was co-written by legendary actor Anthony Perkins. The story is about a millionaire movie producer (Coburn) who decides to invite 6 of his showbusiness friends for a cruise on his yacht to the french riviera in order to play a murder/mystery game that he organized in order to try to find who was behind the hit & run murder of his wife a uear earlier. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars & will likely watch it again in a year or two. Highly recommended!

Je confirme que c'est malade ! Faux aimer le coté action intense (l'histoire est basique) mais encore des nouvelles passes inédite avec toute sorte d'armes.

Saw The Monkey recently. Overall enjoyable, but I do have a soft spot for movies a little deranged or where the humor is on the dark side. I really enjoyed Theo James in The Gentlemen on Netflix and thought he did a fine job. The movie does lose a little steam for me towards the end as it becomes more cartoonish and Osgood Perkins movies do seem to be polarizing, probably wouldn't watch it again. Still, had it's funny moments.

As an aside, I also ended watching an older movie as I had some down time. There's Something About Mary, such a classic. That opening scene where they're going to the prom, Cinema. Franks and Beans!

Warfare. Slow burn at first, but once it gets going, movie chunks. A bit of HBO's Generation Kill with that Alex Garland touch. Thought it wad really good, though there were some really graphic war scenes, may not appeal to everyone.

Not recently but I was surprised by Baby driver.
Loved the music synched with the pictures. The director did do on purpose some nice synchronization. If you didn't catch them you can check the Trivia in IMDB

Watched it the other night. Still not sure if the sex scene near the end was pornographic or just gross. Maybe both. As for the moral of the story i guess it’s that when it comes to great sex looks don’t really matter & a man who’s great in bed can get any woman he wants! Lol

Reminds me of an sp i used to see frequently. I mean…A LOT! Anyways one day a buddy of mine who wasn’t aware that i had seen her had bumped into her when his roomate was seeing her. He wasn’t really impressed & joked that one of our other buddies always raved about her. He said “Seriously i don’t know what he sees in her. This girl is as plain looking as they get. Yet she’s one of his regulars!” I told him that i had also seen her. I added “This girl is absolutely fantastic in bed! She’s a beast! I can’t wait to see her again!” Lol

By the way this is a good movie & probably one of the best movies to come from Mexico. It’s part horror/part science fiction & i’m not going to say more!

I was underwhelmed with "Saturday Night Fever", when I saw it a few years ago. But "Taxi Driver" is a true Scorsese classic. It gets better with each viewing.
I first saw SNF about 15 years ago & also felt a bit underwhelmed by it. But it was likely because the movie was dated & i regretted not having watched it at around the time it came out. I likely would have found it sensational had i seen it then. I absolutely loved the soundtrack & the dancing sequences which i still watch on YouTube occasionally. When i was growing up i just missed the disco era & i have always said that if i could go back in time i’d like to experience the height of the disco era.

As for Taxi Driver i saw it once but was somewhat underwhelmed mostly because i was likely too young when i saw it. That’s one movie that i plan to re-watch soon!
