Hello all,
"Lone survivor" with Mark Wahlberg. I had in mind something like "Shooter", also with Walhberg, and "Behind Enemy Lines" with Owen Wilson. Both of those movies had some fairly predictable but still interesting story lines and were pretty well done. It starts with the tactical mistake of letting captives live, because of course American Black Ops snipers don't shoot (against all training) unarmed Al Qaeda...do they...wink wink wink
and leads to them being exposed and being hunted down.
Lone Survivor was far more shallow than the others with 95% of the movie really being nothing more than an old arcade target game with four Americans knocking down and endless stream of Al Qaeda pop-ups until the good guys get whittled down to one.
Only a theme is given, not a story. I really regret spending a penny on this one. I wouldn't even watch it as a last choice diversion on TV.
