Absolute convenience and the extreme hot weather thrown in made Ant-Man a real no brainier to get away from that damn heat. Also movies are freaking expensive. $14.50 for matinee. A few years ago it was only eight bucks. And the movie industry complains as to why folks don't go to the movies any more!

I was very happy with Ted 2, much better then the first one, and watched it again on the net the other night still funny, , saw Jurassic world, not that great, some good parts but i am glad i waited to watch it on the net. Saw new mad max, was not impressed, originals blow it away, Mel is the man for this franchise, San Andrea quake, boring and i could keep going, i watch a lot of movies, movies to me is like music to others.
Hey Numerati, i agree with the prices, especially popcorn and candy, but on Tuesdays its 5 bucks and if you go with a lady, ask her to vacate some equipment from her bag and stuff it with popcorn and candy and 2 bottles of water and your good to go, crap, i put 2 ice packs in a thermal bag with ice cream in it and shoved it in her bag once, well it was ok, but i wont do it again, had to buy the lady a new bag
, anyway, i still had my ice cream, a bit messy, but hey when in Rome.....

By the way, i don't get all the recent remakes of cult-classics such as Total Recall, Jurassic Park and Vacation. They were all very well made not that long ago and didn't need a 2.0 version. I still prefer watching the originals over the newer versions anyway. What a colossal cash-grab by the inept movie industry!

I agree with you there doc, remakes are not as good as the originals and as for the prices well for sure its a bit much so i went out and bought a nice large TV and a really good surround system, a couch with reclining action and of course a popcorn machine and i have my own movie night.:nod:

Wise move. This is how i watch the large majority of my movies also. HD receiver and a blu-ray player are a must. 55" Panasonic tv and a 7.1 surround sound system with the built-in blu-ray player. Also bought a Panasonic sounboard recently, but havent unboxed it yet. I also recently got myself a 27" Samsung monitor for my new desk computer. Plugged in a blu-ray player to it and with Altec Lansing speakers its also a great way to watch movies id i'd rather stay in my room.
Way to go Doc, almost same set up, i picked up one of those Samsung curved TVs, but i think i will go back to the flat TVs, not liking the curve. And all my TVs are hooked up to a computer and like you my office computer is hooked up to a wide screen and i also watch a lot of movies out of here too,I exchanged my computer chair for a recliner and have wireless keyboard and mouse,, actually i have popcorn time open now and looking for something to watch, lol. Have nothing to do till 2pm, so its a movie with some play station after, have to go kill some gory monsters or shoot up some bad guys, lol, or maybe just kick tigers ass again, lol. Real golf on wednesday @ 6:15am. Let the good times roll.

So i watched this movie, Wish I Was Here, comedy,drama, at first i wished i didn't watch it but then i was glad i had, it hit close to home and made me think about something i hadn't thought about in a while. All and all, I laughed, I cried and I remembered. :thumb: And also, Kate Hudson always looking good.:smile:

for what it is worth I missed it in the Sixth Sense. I missed the fact that Bruce Willis was dead and talking to the kid. I liked the movie.
This movie was worth watching and it was very entertaining. I just couldn't get passed the beggining. This is where the ex-astronaught is chasing a drone through a field and it leads him to the top secret NASA facility and he is sitting across from the scientists that he knew from the space program. That was so fucking corny. If you can get past this it is an OK movie.
Ex Machina is the best Sci-Fi I have seen after Interstellar...Wow...just Wow. They are going to make a part II as well. Wild and crazy Sci-Fi human-robot theme.

I loved this movie. You are correct that the ending was a little hokey. I asked myself why in the world would these elite troops run in front of a disabled tank when they had the Panzerfausts. But the Sherman tank was a POS. There was a Pershing tank that was either built or being built that could take on a Tiger but Patton didn't want it. He thought the Pershing was a gas guzzler and Patton didn't care if the Sherman couldn't take on a Tiger. He wanted to bypass the German tanks and go around them.
I thought that Brad Pitt did a great job and so did that rag tag tank crew he had. I loved the movie. I thought it was the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan.
Incidently, our tank was a death trap. In the Pacific our torpedos didn't work and the Grumman Wildcat was a dog (a tough dog with aromor and self sealing gas tanks) and the devestator torpedo plane was a relic....It is s wonder that we won that war.
OK so I have just been informed that the final scene in Brad Pitt's tank movei the Fury has some basis in fact. The book Death Traps by Belton Cooper is about an Army Ordinance Officer's recollection of his experiences during WWII in Europe. His job was to recover and repair damaged tanks from the battlefield. On page 162 of the book he recounts an exploit of an individual tanker at s crossroads in Eastern France at night against a column of German soldiers that is almost exactly like the closing battle in the movie "Fury". He does not give the name of the lone tanker, but US troops found him alive the next morning in his tank surrounded by dead German soldiers. The rest of his crew was dead.
I had thought that last battle scene in the movie was a fictional account, but apparently not.
Finally got around to watching Inherent Vice. Great f*@king movie! I almost pissed myself when Doc (Joaquin Phoenix) shoots at Adrian Prussia (Peter McRobbie), and then yells out "did I hit you?"
Train wreck! Absolutely funny ! Amy Schumer a genius writer .. Just for Lebron James who makes a great cameo it's worth it !
