Look behind you.
Arc Angels were a blues rock band formed in Austin, Texas in the early 1990s. The band was composed of guitarist and singers Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton and two former members of Stevie Ray Vaughan's band Double Trouble, drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon. The 'Arc' in the band's name came from the Austin Rehearsal Complex where the band first started jamming.[1]

Something (Abbey Road)

Sung and written by Harrison, who chronicles his affection for his wife, but also the uncertain side of their relationship.

It's a beautiful love song.

Three Dog Night, Easy to be hard

This song is less known than their 3 big hits (Mama Told Me (Not to Come), Joy to the World and Black and White.
I like the sweetness of the beginning, then the progression in power.

They did not write any of those songs. This band was purely a cover band with no real talent other than to popularize the music of others. Easy To Be Hard was a great song from Hair creators MacDermot and Rado, long before they did it.

Sadly, Chuck Negron, who is in poor health, has nevertheless been playing the oldies circuit and in the summer of 2019 did a concert at the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun with an oxygen tank strapped to his back. A neighbor of mine who went said you could not see the tank, but Negron admitted to it. He said the concert was good, but he strictly does the oldies circuit.

Original Hair version of Easy To Be Hard by Lynn Kellogg was part of an album that was bigger than anything Three Do Night ever did:

With that line of thinking, you could say the same thing about Elvis Presley. LOL. You must be the guy whose vote is keeping them out of the RNR HOF. I agree with sen and his analysis is excellent. As great as the Hair musical is, the music was made popular by the "cover versions" from singers outside Broadway.

Geesh, next you are going to say that the Cowsills had no real talent.

I think both Elvis Presley and to a lesser extent Glen Campbell did something unique with the music they got and turned ordinary songs into something culturally significant. Three Dog Night did no such thing. They didn't even do as much as The Animals or Joan Jett did with their cover songs which is why Animals are in the RRHOF and Three Dog Night has been properly left out. Chuck Negron was a pretty good singer, but not unique, not emulated and certainly not one of the greats. He is doing the oldies circuit with guys like Lou Christie, which is exactly what he should be doing.

I have also observed that TDN's music doesn't get air time on Sirius Channel 7 compared to bands whose music was less commercial and less successful during the same time frame. This is a sign that their music has not aged well with critics and fans.

A much more controversial exclusion from the RRHOF is The J Geils Band. They I believe hold the record with 5 Hall nominations and no cigar. So they at least keep getting nominated, but also can't get in. They were at least writing their own music, and I would put them in sooner than I would TDN.

I love Grunge bands in general. I also love classic rock. My 2 favorite bands ever are The Beatles and Nirvana.

I also have a soft side for Pink Floyd and Rush, among others. I also love old school Quebec music like Harmonium. During the 90s i also listened to a lot of Grimskunk and Les Colocs.

I listen to a lot of other stuff too, from pop to punk, and everything in-between.

Deep Purple, Hush

Deep Purple are a British hard rock band, originally from Hertford, Hertfordshire, England. Formed in 1968, he is considered one of the founders of the hard rock genre with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
Was actually listening to this on the way home from my Ottawa escort hat trick this long weekend lol. Love this song...it's the first track on their Best Of...Cd. It was a bit of a tiring day and drove home kind of late...but cranking Deep Purple kept me alert.

Hush by Deep Purple is a classic, classic tune and is a quintessential staple of the psychedelic/hard rock revolution that was taking place in 1968, and a very appropriate posting here, although it should be noted that Deep Purple was covering a song written by American songwriter Joe South. But they did do something special with it, and I give credit where credit is due and that song may be the best song they ever did, IMHO. That song was released in September 1968, and went to #4 on the Billboard chart and #2 in Canada and remains an all time rock classic.

Earlier that year, however, in April 1968, an American band called the Amboy Dukes, led by their cocky young lead guitarist Ted Nugent, was laying down a track which would also become a classic of the psychedelic/hard rock revolution that was evolving in 1967 and 1968. I put this song in the same genre as "Hush", and Nugent's blistering guitar solo at the 2 minute mark is some of the best work he ever did. If you listen to Nugent's opening guitar lead early in the song, it sounds to me like the band Heart would somewhat copy it around 9 years later with their song "Barracuda":

It should be noted that Nugent's bandmates have had less than kind things to say about him recently, noting his enormous ego and frequently bragging in the 1960s that he was better than Jimi Hendrix. I would not go that far, but Nugent was pretty good and could play.

April Wine, Say hello

Is a Canadian rock band from Waverley, Nova Scotia. The group then relocated to Quebec. He enjoyed many successes during the 1970s, especially in North America, and has had 20 albums.
Despite his 40 years, he still performs on stage.
