Actually the Thicke song "Blurred Lines" was inspired by Marvin Gaye's hit song "Got To Give It Up", and now Thicke has gone on the offensive and sued Marvin Gaye's family after they threatened to sue him due to similarity of the songs. Gaye's family wants to shut down creation of any songs in this genre. I say Thicke will win this lawsuit:

I like both songs and no artist has the right to shut down works in the same musical category.

Yesterday I was driving home from work and I heard the Rolling Stones song "Monkey Man" on the radio. Not sure why, but even though I listen to an oldies radio station that plays music from the 1960s and 1970s, I had not heard this song in a very long time. I used to hear it in high school all the time, in fact it was one of the top songs played at parties when I was in high school. I also think it is one of the Stones' signature songs, from the 1969 album Let It Bleed:

There is a book out there about Led Zeppelin written by one of their roadies. Says that they were good guys who took their jobs as rocks stars very seriously and partied just as hard as they played. The fictional band in the movie "Almost Famous" is modelled after Led Zeppelin.

I like a variety of music. At times, i'm in the mood for some classic country (Cash, Jennings, Travis, etc). Other times, it's classic rock (Zep, BTO, Eagles, etc). I also like 60's music (Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones, etc). Just the other day, i watched Elvis' comeback concert on dvd. These days when i'm driving around, i'm into Pitbull, Rihanna and i love One Direction's "Story of My Life". Just yesterday, i was listening to Andrea Bocceli and then watched a french country tv show with Patrick Norman & Paul Daraiche which i enjoyed tremendously! And tonight, i'll be swinging to some Garolou & other french folk music!
