Its the last day of 2025 and 2026 upon us tonight at midnight.

So I ask, what's your 2026 New Years resolutions?

Go to the gym? A new diet? Travel the world more? Invest in your money? Go back to University? Start a new career? Maybe bang more SPs?!? Lol

Continuing my journey to a becoming a healthy, organic bitch!

I’ve revamped my pantry, clearing out all the junk, from seed oils to fillers and gums, which only contribute to inflammation and health issues. BTW ➡️ Gut health is where it all begins.

Making my own bread (sourdough ((gut healthy)) … plus diving deep into holistic medicine! I love homemade remedies that can tackle ailments naturally. For example, I’m prone to strep throat and tonsillitis, but instead of going for the 100th round of antibiotics (which mess up my gut and can contribute to depression), I take oregano oil drops under my tongue as soon as I feel symptoms coming on. Tastes like fkn shit but it works! o_O:p

I’ve built up resistance to penicillin and amoxicillin, which is concerning, because if I become resistant to other antibiotics, I’d have to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics. Those can weaken you even more and cause heart issues. So, I focus on natural approaches like making ginger and turmeric shots to boost my immunity and support my health long-term.

On a side note, it’s wild how even the organic aisle has some sketchy ingredients, so I’m avoiding those too. I’ve ditched the toxic aerosols and created my own non-toxic dry shampoo. Plus, I swapped my Dove bar soap for an all-natural Greek soap that’s actually good for my skin with no caca ingredients.

I’ve stopped using ultra chemical detergents / softeners and switched to an all natural brand. The phthalates in those products are incredibly toxic and contribute to hormone disruption… turns the damn frogs gay :D (also got natural dishwasher pods).
Got a water filtration system that filters out fluoride, lead, PFAS PFOS etc.

That’s about it. I’ve become even more annoying with this shit hahahah.

You are becoming a regular germaphobe lol.
Just watch out for buses, there is nothing you can take for them.

Don’t worry about anything that you can fix with money.
No real resolutions, that way I won’t have to break them.

Reduce consumption of beer
that should a resolution for me too lol...i lie to myself and say that aside from the empty calories, beer is harmless, ...or at least the least harmful of all the alcohols. I know a guy who has been drinking more than a 6-pack daily for more than 60 years (he is 81). He is still sharp mentally, but yeah he has a pretty good beer gut.

I just drink non alcoholic beer. Way less calories and way less beer gut effect.

I’d gotten into a routine the last 8 years of drinking a six pack while surfing youtube videos every evening. When hanging out with friends, drink more. When there are planned events in the evenings, I’ll divide between how much I drink before, and much later in the evening after the event. I had a short stint dating someone last year, and would drink a beer or two in front of her casually, but when she’d go to the washroom or take a shower before sleeping, I’d get everything else in otherwise I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

It has now been 4 evenings since January 1 of breaking out of this routine. My perception of sleep has been very disrupted but my Garmin tells me that I’m sleeping better than ever, and my resting heart rate is much lower. So that helps get through overnight and not drive me to irritation knowing that the process is working despite what I think is happening. The last evenings, I’ve felt like I’m actually doing things, and am more patient with chores. Amongst other things, basic things like emptying the dishwasher had to fit quickly before or after drinking before bed, the last 5 days, I feel I empty the dishwasher with peace and not rush.

Now it does help that I’ve got a very bad cold and irritation from the holidays. I expect that as I get back to normal, the temptations to drink beer will become stronger. But for now, on to evening #5 tonight, and hopefully work towards a new routine.

What I am most excited about is muscle recovery. I am extremely active with sports and weightlifting. If at at a minimum I do not drink the days that I do weightlifting, I wonder after all of these years, what that translates to when it comes to gains from recovery.
