One small question: If I have to choose between Sharks and Mainhatten, should I choose Sharks?. You said Mainhatten is quite small...
Or should I try to indulge in both?
I am there on Tuesday and Wednesday...March 28th and 29th.
I am going to use the airbus from the Frankfurt airport to Darmstadt for Sharks..which I believe is 10 Euro each way..
Mainhatten is right smack in the middle of the downtown core..so no problems getting to this one.
I won't be able to rent a car...not too comfortable driving in Germany since never been there.
Azzaro,
I think your "plan" is hopelessly over-ambitious. You are vastly underestimating the challenges involved in finding your way to the places you say you want to visit in such a short amount of time.
Have you planned where you are going to stay while in the Frankfurt area? There is no place that would be convenient for both Mainhatten and Sharks. You should choose hotels carefully by price, location and accesibility to public transportation.
Mainhatten is in the city of Frankfurt but it is definitely not "...right smack in the middle of the downtown core." You need to take a streetcar there that you can catch at the main train station and travel about 11 stops. It takes about 35-45 minutes. Then you have to walk several hundred yards to find the club hidden behind a bunch of industrial/commercial buildings.
If you are staying the downtown area, you should just take a taxi to get there. It would cost you about 15 Euros one way.
Sharks is much harder to find and reach. Darmstadt is an outer suburb of Frankfurt. It would be an expensive taxi ride from downtown. You can get somewhat close to it by public transport but it's a fairly complicated route and not easy for a newbie.
If this is your first trip to Germany, I would pick one city such as Frankfurt or Berlin and stay there for more than just two days. If you can only stay two days in Frankfurt, then stay downtown and go to Mainhatten two nights and forget Sharks or Oase. If you can stay in Frankfurt longer, say 4 or 5 days then you might have time to figure out how to navigate to the clubs on the outskirts of Frankfurt like Sharks or Oase.
I think you are getting caught up in FKK newbie hype and you are neglecting to carefully plan the details of your trip. The FKKs can be a wonderful experience but they are also a potential minefield for a newbie like you. Many of the girls are "sharks" and they can smell an over-enthusiastic newbie like you from far away. They will take advantage of you if you don't approach the experience with careful planning.
