Not based on my experience in Montreal as I already said multiple times. I had pancakes made from crepe batter and paid for the meal. That was in Le Plateau. Chez Cora offered to make me pancakes from crepe batter and I said no. It's absolutely ridiculous and condescending to even suggest that!!!!
give it up beav, i am sure all/most canadians know what "american" pancakes are. i actually prefer the thin dutch pancakes, which are more crepe-like

Did anyone ever try the English breakfast at Burgundy Lion on Notre Dame?
Last ate here 10 years ago. That breakfast features the fattiest bacon I ever tasted. Not that any bacon is lean, but that slab bacon takes it to another level.

I amended my post above to note that breakfast which I last had 10 years ago. I ignored the ketchup, which one is free to do. If you can't ignore it, you can also drop it in the garbage en route to the restroom.

Where do you go for a good breakfast in Montreal?

Any suggestions?

I like reasonably priced breakfast places with a huge menu selection. Something like Greenspot.

How about you?

When I was really hungry for eggs, meat and potatoes for breakfast I used to go to Reubens on St. Catharines. It was usually within walking distance of where I was staying and the smoked meats were very good. The last time I tried them- I dont think they were open for breakfast. When I was younger and able to really the pack it away, the breakfast buffet at the Queen Elizabeth was a feast. Now it would be wasted on me.

That's the place I was talking about which was the only restaurant downtown where you could get reliable American pancakes 2002-2017. There were actually two Reuben's at one time, one was for locals and the other was for tourists. The one I was talking about was between Peel and Stanley on south side of St. Catherine. The other one for the locals was further west on St. Catherine. Is either one still there? Back in the day, I would come to Montreal, check in at Le Centre Sheraton, exchange money at Calforex on Peel, and then go and have a late pancake breakfast at Reuben's around the corner.

I one time remember seeing Doc Holliday in there. He would order his smoked meat sandwich there. So I saw him in there and his sandwich was eaten and his fries hadn't been touched. I said to Holliday, "what's a matter you don't like French Fries? Can I have them?" And he said "no! I love French Fries and I always save them for last!" I couldn't wrap my head around that but as they say different strokes for different folks!
