When I was really hungry for eggs, meat and potatoes for breakfast I used to go to Reubens on St. Catharines. It was usually within walking distance of where I was staying and the smoked meats were very good. The last time I tried them- I dont think they were open for breakfast. When I was younger and able to really the pack it away, the breakfast buffet at the Queen Elizabeth was a feast. Now it would be wasted on me.

That's the place I was talking about which was the only restaurant downtown where you could get reliable American pancakes 2002-2017. There were actually two Reuben's at one time, one was for locals and the other was for tourists. The one I was talking about was between Peel and Stanley on south side of St. Catherine. The other one for the locals was further west on St. Catherine. Is either one still there? Back in the day, I would come to Montreal, check in at Le Centre Sheraton, exchange money at Calforex on Peel, and then go and have a late pancake breakfast at Reuben's around the corner.

I one time remember seeing Doc Holliday in there. He would order his smoked meat sandwich there. So I saw him in there and his sandwich was eaten and his fries hadn't been touched. I said to Holliday, "what's a matter you don't like French Fries? Can I have them?" And he said "no! I love French Fries and I always save them for last!" I couldn't wrap my head around that but as they say different strokes for different folks!

I don't know what they are. I attached a photo of what American pancakes look like. Served with butter and maple syrup.

Japanese pancakes are more on the fluffy side. Its cooking itself is different as they kind of "steam" the pancake to give it's pseudo thickness and fluffiness.
This year one opened on St Catherine: fuwa fuwa (Japanese for light and soft btw)

McDonald's

The sausage and egg McMuffin, whether you are happy or sad, always seems to "hit the spot".;)

I tried different McDonald's around the world and each country has their local menu on top of the global one.
Here I really like the bagel breakfast!
