Myself I’ve been to a few in Europe,, not the U.k though. Nothing worth mentioning.
In the states ,, once in Chicago and a few times in Vegas albeit a long time ago .

As for CLOUD 500 the only advice I could give him whould be to appreciate the SC scene here in Montreal albeit in decline these days from the glory years of past. Only need to venture outside LA BELLE to perhaps realize that you don’t have it that bad after all :/ .

I love Brazil and Brooklyn Masagem in Sampa is my favorite but having said that, I would say that Sampa is a tricky place wrought with danger and language barrier, rip offs etc. The sex is the best value I've found but a flight can cost you thousands. I think you need a tour guide.

Flights to São Paulo are not that expensive. Air Canada offers a new direct flight between Montreal and São Paulo for 620$CDN. You can easily have flights for 700$ or 800$ but the only problem is that you have to make a layover in the USA.

I'm very familiar with Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis, Porto Alegre, Bahia, Brasilia, Goiâna and particularly São Paulo : I never had problems hobbying in these cities.

The sex scene (SW, vintoes (i.e., cheap brothels), privês, clínicas de massagem, agencies, boates, freelancers, private clubs for very wealthy men, swing clubs, etc.) is very diversified and the help of a guide is mandatory if you want to find your way in this maze.

My personal opinion is speaking Portuguese fluently is not required. It's important to be an independent traveler who can do some travel and mongering research. It is also important to have intellectual curiosity and patience where you will make some effort to learn some basic Portuguese from tapes and/or language books.

Some Americans think they are going to jump on a plane, land in a foreign country and everyone is going to cater to them in English. Unless you stay in a hotel and never leave, that is very unlikely.

I went to the Hustler Club in Paris and Stringfellows in London. The quality of the girls in both is amazing. They were all at least 8.5/10 overall. So it's a great show for the eyes, but the other senses are very often cast aside.

If it were not for Merb and the various strippers I meet I would never know where those places were. Is it possible London has fun high mileage places but far away in out of town places far away from downtown?

If the only clubs available were the so called rip off gentlemen clubs found in downtown Montreal I would never go. They are lame and a total waste of money. Protagoras is a soothsayer when it comes to Brazil. Rio caters to tourists and if you are adventurous this is more doable but Sao Paulo is a maze. I remember my first trip there.
I was calling apartment escorts up and we couldn't communicate. There are tour guides. I feel more and more comfortable each visit. I can take a cab to Brooklyn on my own now. I can ring an apartment girl. I know this sounds silly but this took hours and hours of work over several years.

Contact someone like ABG or tag along with a fellow Merbite or ISG'r that knows their way around Sampa. If it costs you a little money to learn the ropes it is money well spent in my opinion.

@hungry101 - I believe you and protagorus like using AltoBomGosto when in Sao Paulo. I have traveled around the world and I generally do not use a guide. Of course, there are ex-pats that show up in some watering holes that can offer local advice and wisdom. Guides to me can sometimes just be middle men. They can steer you to venues where they receive some type of remuneration or have a relationship. Or they just simply take you to the obvious, headline venues. Due to limited time when I'm in SP, I've never found what I wanted at the clinicas, but I am tempted to return and use ABG.

As far as contacting independents or trying to meet up with a girl the next day, Whatsapp has leveled the playing field. Before smartphones, I had some success having girls key in digits into my phone. If trying to schedule a meeting became difficult, I would have my apartment reception guy or a cool hotel bellhop talk to the girl. These guys were happy to oblige for a nominal tip. With Whatsapp, Uber, Google Maps and Translate, it makes me wonder how did any of us monger in the old days.

As far as the business perspective in Brazil, I would say in general it is lacking with the general populace. Things in South America can be more difficult than they should be. Higher level Brazilian businessmen understand business, but they are exposed to Western business culture. Everyone who has mongered in Brazil has experienced the notorious tardiness and flaking of Brazilian programa girls.

Having said that, would I trade Brasileiras' flakiness and intense passion for a Western escort who is very efficient in conducting her affairs but also more business like in bed? Hell no!

I remember in the 2000s there were a couple guys assisting mongers in Rio. Whether they were guys who were guides, booking apartments or making other travel arrangements, with a few exceptions they were American ex-pats. Perhaps there were European ex-pats in Rio doing the same thing in Euro languages.

The funny thing was that whenever we would use a young, enterprising Brazilian guy to help us with apartments, airport transfers, etc. they were never as proficient. About all they were good for was drinking with us at Terrazzo Atlantica. I think they hustled newbies by accompanying them around Help Disco.

I don't remember going in, nor going out of that club in London. I vaguely remember the "in-between", having a lot of beautiful women dancing near me and discussions with fellow quebecois guys about how mileage is non-existent at that club (that we could see or figure out, we were young and inexperienced). It is most definitely possible that there are high-mileage clubs in London or elsewhere in the UK. I have actually never insinuated the contrary.

Not only is where but when you hobby important. I am Canadian born. Back in the early 80s in Milano, Italy it was an amazing time for the hobbyist. At night the industrial areas (like we have here in Ville St. Laurent) would turn into a hobbyist Disneyland. There would be ladies of all types and ages lining the streets. You could have anything from 19 to late 60s. A fast one would cost you $3-5 Canadian at the time. I can not tell you what goes on there now, I suspect the hobby scene is quite different now.
