I come from U.S. I hope U.S. has such a good escorting service in U.S. as well.
Praise ( or blame ) the separatist they are responsible for the crappy economy of the early 80s that drove out all the head offices, factories and jobs leading to increased escort activity and lower prices. Lower real estate prices as well.
tian88,
What are things like where you come from?
It is like a lot of things in the U.S., it is going really well if you are rich. Unfortunately I am not rich.
For instance, my favorite agency in Vegas, 100 Proof, is going to raise their rate on Oct. 1 from $400 to $500 an hour. That is still less than most of the well-reviewed independents there. The agency owner says he has to do so to attract talent.
This thread did cause me to have a theoretical question. I think there is a strong cultural trend in the U.S. for families to provide a lot of financial support to young adults. Much more so than decades ago when there was more of an attitude of you are 18 and an adult, you are on your own. I am sure that years of English language advertising providing a guilt trip to working women for spending too little time with their kids that could only be alleviated by purching the advertised product contributed to this.
I just wonder if there is more of an old-fashioned you are an adult and you are on your own at 18 attitude in French-Quebec than in primarily English speaking places, particularly the U.S. but also in the rest of Canada. There are certainly a lot more 18-25 year old escorts in Montreal than other places, and I am always amazed at how poised and mature they are. They are simply a lot more comfortable with themselves than the few escorts a person meets in that age group in other places.
I suppose you could argue that the tremendous availability of student loans reduces the incentive for young women in the US to pursue sex work, but it seems that Montreal young women just seem more worldly overall than their US counterparts at the same age.

Cheers,
Nobody has commented on the primary reason which is simple economics. Look at the fee structure for sex workers in Montreal and in US cities and in comparable destinations in Latin America. If you are within driving distance of Montreal it wins every possible cost analysis, unless you are a high volume hobbyist who needs to see a minimum of 10 ladies in 5 days, in which case Colombia or Latin American destinations may be more cost effective. If you are the regular 1 lady a day kind of guy, then Montreal is your most cost efficient destination if you are within a 7 hour driving radius of Montreal. Based on past posts I have seen on this and similar boards, most of the local Canadian hobbyists are not very familiar with the nature and economics of hobbying in the USA, so they don't fully appreciate or understand what drives sexual tourism by the American consumer. Most of the American hobbyists I know have travelled to both Latin America and Montreal, and Europe/Asia, and don't do anything in the USA. The debate over sexual tourism destinations boils down to economics and volume. In my case, I don't like to fly (was involved in a near crash many years ago that requires me to take anxiety meds), I don't have frequent flyer miles and I am a low volume hobbyist who prefers quality and length of date over volume of dates. Most of the high volume American hobbyists I know go to Colombia where prostitition is legal and crazy inexpensive, and other Latin American destinations.
I read Sputnik's post and it doesn't tell the whole story. I am aware of the history. I am aware that Montreal was once the Financial Capital of Canada. Generally speaking if you look at European and third world countries the best hobbying destinations are in the financial capitals where the wealth is concentrated. It's common sense that is where sex workers migrate to- where the money is. Sputnik's history lesson therefore actually gives a reason to believe Montreal is the opposite of what it should be and is.
