Well, what do you expect? O'Byrne only earns $590 000 per year. The guy is practically starving! It's only natural that he'll try to steal someone's purse in order to feed himself. He only took $20 from the purse, so at least give him a little bit of slack! ;)

Seriously though, i'm glad this happened in the US where no one gives a shit about hockey players, unlike Canada (especially Mtl where Habs players are used to people kissing their butts & women throwing themselves at their feet). Both of these players got a dose of reality, how it is in the real world when you are punished if you commit a crime. They'll hopefully learn that there are no double-standards for hockey players in Tampa.

Is it possible that O'Byrne was trying to do a good deed, perhaps thinking that the purse belonged to Jiri Tlusty and he would return it to him the next time these 2 powerhouse squads from the Original Six faced each other?

NJ Devils Spank Ottawa

Saw another great game at the Prudential Center (aka The Rock) in Newark, NJ yesterday as the Devils whooped up on the Senators in OT. In addition to putting on a goaltending clinic, Martin Brodeur won his 30th game of the season. That means he's won at least 30 games in 12 straight seasons. That's an NHL record!

Hey John Thomas..the Rock is quite different fron the Brendan Byrne Arena, as the former home is just 2 minutes from my home..Easy to park, and just walk in

Newark is a whole different animal..certainly no place to tailgate, forced to pay for parking..but the Police are doing their best to keep the human trash away from the area

The Devils will always be there at the end though...not like my Rangers

Such a shame that the Devils are never sold out ( Only Rangers, Flyers, Islanders, etc). What a class organization ( that coming from a Ranger fan ) , to be rewarded with fans that think they came to a WWE event !!

Doc- IMHO..the problem is that Chara is gone..quite an imposing figure to replace!!! Emery is a "flash in the pan "..after his one good year, people were treating him as he was the next fucking coming of Marty, Ken Dryden..etc

I am sure that Ottawa does not have the budget that my Rangers, Toronto , Montreal has..Do you think that is the case ??

Best Regards

Smuler

A well deserved OT road win for nos glorieux against a good Florida team as Price stands tall stopping 36 of 37 shots! :D

Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Turds find themselves in the basement of the eastern conference - thanks to back to back losses against Buffalo and the Islanders combined with a Tampa win tonight. Are these the same Maple Craps that were picked by the all the so called experts (and some members of this board - who shall remain nameless!) as a lock for a playoff spot this season?

Ottawa's payroll is the lowest among the 4 teams you mention - but not by much

CAP HIT

Sens $47.211M
Habs $48.081M
Maple Laffs $49.868M
Rags $51.098M

What a highlight reel goal by Andrei Kostitsyn!

Another well deserved win for the Red, White & Blue last night against a very good Flyer team as Price stands tall earning his first shut out! :D

Meanwhile, it was a bad night in Toronto’s pursuit of a top 5 pick as the lowly Maple Turds post a rare win. I’m sure Leaf fans are now thinking that the playoffs are just around the corner, and that Fletcher shouldn’t trade Sundin.

I hope the Leafs actually start to win a few games and hold on to Sundin but end up finishing in 10th or 11th place – end result: no picks or prospects for Sundin, no playoffs and no top 5 pick! But MLSE will still post a huge profit as the gullible masses in Toronto continue to fill the seats, buy Maple Crap merchandise and subscribe to Maple Loser TV! :D

1) The Flyers have lost 6 straight games and are not playing well.
2) Gangne, Coburn, and Hatcher are out, and Lupul left the game 5 minutes in after suffering a high ankle sprain.
3) Dave Jackson stole the tying goal from the Flyers with 1:09 left in the game, claiming Price was pushed into the net so no review of the goal... replay clearly showed there wasn't a push and goal should have been reviewed. This is the second time in a week Jackson made a call like that and in both cases he was out of position and couldn't see the play.

You got a homer call to get your win, but look to get pasted tonight in Philly!!!

I wonder if they'll shop him around within the next couple of weeks prior to the trade deadline. Some teams are on the lookout for a quality number one goalie.

The only team that will be trying hard to shop players at the deadline are the Toronto Maple Craps, but bloated long term contracts with no movement clauses for non productive assets (McCabe, Tucker, Kubina ... etc) will make that job harder for Toronto's recycled g.m. Cliff Fletcher. :D

In Toronto hockey fans are on the lookout for a real NHL team because the one they have now belongs in the AHL! :D

Let me make a bold prediction right now:

The Habs will make it to the Eastern Conference Final. Heck, they might even make it to the Cup!

How dare you launch such a vicious unprovoked insult at the AHL?

Habs beat Rangers after being down 5-0!!!!!!!!

One word: Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a game!!!!!!!! The Habs were down 5-0 & came back to win 6-5 in a shootout!!! One of the best games i've seen in years!!! There's a karma around this year's edition of the Habs, and you've heard it here: "They're going to play for the Cup!!"

Ryder scored a hat trick, Kovalev was once again unbelievable, and the whole team played great (after the first period, that is). The Habs had never in their entire history come back to win a game after being down by 5 goals. Guess what? They did!!!!!!!!!

What a game, what a game!!! Go Habs Go!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Not to long ago you were saying the only cup the Habs would be playing for in the spring would be the tin cup - since there was no way Montreal would make the playoffs and your beloved Maple Craps would be gearing up for a long post season! :p
