Talk about two faced - on October 5 it was "Go Leafs" but today its "Leafs suck" !! :p the standings wouldn't have anything to do with it, would it?

Huh? I've always been a big Habs fan. It's the Sens that i absolutely hate!

As for the Maple Laughs, they just plain ol' suck! How else can i describe a team that hasn't been in the playoffs in nearly 3 years & who were stuck in last place (in their conference) just a few weeks ago? I'll say it again, "they suck!" (but for some unexplainable reason, they don't suck as much as the Sens when they play against one another).

Well Einstein, i must correct you. Prior to the salary cap was implemented, Toronto was able to buy itself into the playoffs pretty much every season since it's existence.

But you're correct Einstein by staying that Toronto got better today by substraction. However, as for OUR Habs, they weakened themselves by giving away Huet & not later obtaining a veteran goalie.

Actually Edison, I must correct YOU. The Laughs have not won a Cup since 1967 which is why the post began with "You can't BUY the Stanley Cup." I quoted the rest of your initial post for its amusement value, not for its spiral into mediocrity. Congratulations on that light bulb idea though.

Okay Doc, either you've been sampling your own nitrous oxide again, OR there are TWO different personalities (note that they don't have to be two different PEOPLE) using your computer.

For my money, the Huet/Price tandem isn't any better than either the Toskala/Raycroft or Emery/Gerber tandems.

In that case I'm glad you're not managing MY money! What do you think now that it's even the less experienced Price/ Halak tandem? Well my opinion is that Price/Halak (and previously Huet/Price) are better than my grandmother...and SHE'S better than the Toronto and Ottawa pairings you mentioned. At this point John Ferguson Jr. and John Paddock would probably agree!

I still guarantee that the Maple Leafs will finish higher than the Habs in the standings come the end of the year. I know it's not saying much, but the Leafs will at least make the playoffs.

I hope it wasn't a money-back guarantee Doc because if it was you might have to take out a BIG loan!

Whatever. It doesn't change the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs are still the greatest franchise in hockey (and possibly all sports) and nothing will ever change this fact.

Go Leafs Go!! :D

Was this quote from personality # 1 or personality # 2? I'm just trying to figure out your 2 identities Doc, because in case you haven't noticed, your viewpoint is not exactly consistent. (Then again, I know nothing about nitrous oxide.)

Huet was a well liked and skilled goalie.

Hossa was not priced right.

However in all fairness to the people's belief that one man can WIN a Stanley cup, please wake up and smell the coffee..

Its a TEAM sport, it depends on the heart and the willingness to win.

Montreal has played some great Hockey this year and displayed a hell alot of poise on that famous comeback game. This is what you need ATTITUDE and DESIRE!

The Habs can go head to head with any team in the conference and win.

If I remember correctly , most of Montrealer's did not give the HABs the time day prior to the season opener, now everyone is barking about the trade. Geez most of the barkers never laced a pair of skates.

As for Doc and his "Maple leafs" they have tried this "Lets buy a team" and it has backfired everytime . It seems as if the entire organization in TO mistook hockey for baseball and imagined they were called the Yankees..

WE have a very good package and what really helps is to have True Blue Fans that stick with their players. It does make a difference!

Enjoy the Playoffs :)

At least the Leafs are always exciting to watch, whether they win or lose. The Habs? One of the best cures for insomnia. Zzzzzzzzzzzz

# 2, is that you? Oh, sorry # 1.

Since the time i posted this, the Habs have picked up their play & are now once again interesting to watch. Who knows, maybe Bob & Guy read also & figured it was time to start entertaining the folks who pay their paycheques instead of putting them to sleep.

During the first intermission of the Canucks vs. Avalanche game Darwin Head a sawmill worker from Saskatchewan with a wife and three young kids made 15 of 20 shots in 24 seconds from the far blue line to win a cool million.

The Leafs should draft him in now, they need a good sniper :)
