Wow, what a difference 1 year makes

HOUSTON -- When the 2014 Yankees open Tuesday night, this is how Joe Girardi will fill out his lineup card:

    Jacoby Ellsbury CF
    Derek Jeter SS
    Carlos Beltran RF
    Brian McCann C
    Mark Teixeira 1B
    Alfonso Soriano DH
    Brett Gardner LF
    Brian Roberts 2B
    Kelly Johnson 3B

    CC Sabathia P

"Basically, we are going to have a new guy in every position," Girardi said.

This was the Yankees' lineup to start 2013 against the Red Sox.

    Gardner CF
    Eduardo Nunez SS
    Robinson Cano 2B
    Kevin Youkilis 1B
    Vernon Wells LF
    Ben Francisco DH
    Ichiro Suzuki RF
    Jayson Nix 3B
    Francisco Cervelli C

    Sabathia P

That's a scary lineup, on paper they look pretty dominant so much power in the heart of the order.

    KJ,

I very much agree. Btw I see Jose Reyes went down already after one at bat, just like last season if I remember correctly. Any word on him yet? groin? I really would love to see the Jays back to contending again with the Yanks and Rays. I also feel the Orioles have improved themselves over last season as well.

Last year, Reyes missed a few months after tearing some ligaments in his ankle during a slide early into the season. Reyes has always had a history of hamstring problems since he entered MLB. He had a recurrence of those problems two weeks ago during spring training. He came back for the Montreal games. He left today's game after one at-bat after feeling his hamstring tightening up. My guess is that it's day-to-day.

My guess is that the Blue Jays will finish ahead of the Red Sox, that's my guess.

    Sharkman my friend,

The LAD are stacked and have an excellent manager in Don Mattingly but hate to see Kershaw go down already. He might be back as early as the 7th of April I heard today. Good luck on the season and I hope you will contribute in the thread throughout the season.

He had that problem as a Met

He came back to have that killer year

Then he signed that contract in Miami

It was either sign him, or David Wright long term...

For once, we did something right

After today's blown game, it's gonna be a long season in Metland....

Hopefully you get rid of Yasiel Puig soon while he still has value

    Good luck this year

Hope my Mets pull one out of their ass and we meet in the playoffs

    I doubt it
