Sabres blow out Oilers 6-2

Things seem to be back to normal in Edmonton after the Oilers got blown out 6-2 by the Buffalo Sabres, who were without their two best players in Evander Kane and Jake Eichel. Future superstar Connor McDavid was held off the scoresheet for the first time this season and only had 1 shot during the entire game. Goalie Cam Talbot, whom they overpaid for, let in a 100-foot shot from the red line.

I predicted that the Oilers would miss the playoffs once again this season and will actually again finish in the bottom five.

It's too bad for the Oilers that the don't play the Flames more often.

p.s. Eagerbeaver, my offer to wager with you is still open.

That is exactly where i want to see them with Montreal at 30 but no way will Mtl be the worst team in the league this year so sure I would love to see detroit fall one more spot :)

The Red Wings are right there knocking on the cellar door at #29, you can't complain about that, if that is where you want to see them go

Who Will Be The First NHL Coach To Be Fired?

Which NHL coach do you think will be the first to lose his job this year? Last year it took only 7 games for the CBJs to fire their head coach. A look back at last season's in-season firings, of which there were 3, after 7 coaching changes at the very end of the 2014-15 season:

October 21, 2015- Columbus Blue Jackets fired Todd Richards after an 0-7 record through 7 games
December 12, 2015- Pittsburgh Penguins fired Mike Johnston with 15-10-3 record after 28 games
February 13, 2016- Minnesota Wild Fiired Mike Yeo with 23-22-10 record after 55 games.

So there were 10 total coaching changes from end of 2014-15 season to end of 2015-2016 season, not counting what happened since end of 2016 season, since which there have been 5 more changes.

There have been 15 total NHL coaching changes since end of 20154-15 season to now- half the leagues coaches, were let go.

When will that always sharpened NHL head coach axe fall next? On whose neck?

Cheers,

p.s. It takes some balls to say you dislike the habs here ;)

The Leafs are one exciting team

Only in Toronto will you see a perennial loser Leaf team:

  1. replace all of the front office staff
  2. add a new overpaid chairwarmer in Shanahan
  3. spend a fortune to bring in a new (over rated) coach
  4. change the teams logo (with an ass crack on the bottom of the new logo)

Toronto Maple Leafs: loser team, loser organization, loser fans ...

Pittsburgh is still on top in the power rankings, those very talented St. Louis Blues are right behind at #2 and the CBJs are still dead last and the worst team in the NHL:
Like i said the other day, the season is still very young. Eighty games left to go. By the way, i don't pay that much importance on ESPN's power rankings. If you would have quoted The Hockey News or TSN, that would have been a different story. ESPN doesn't know hockey as much as THN or TSN.

I feel the same way Iggy does about the habs. I love the city and its people, but hate the hockey team. Always did. I grew up a Bruins fan, and later a Leafs fan. Both rivals of the hated Canadiens.

p.s. For whatever reason, i don't dislike the habs as much now with Subban gone to Nashville.

Be careful of what you say. The way i see it, the habs are heading the same way the Leafs were a couple of decades ago when Harold Ballard owned the team. Last season's habs were the joke of the league! What a zoo!! And in a panic move, they traded away the face of the franchise....possibly one of the most popular athletes the city ever had! And he's still very young and will dominate the league for the next decade. The guy they got back is still very good, but he's not getting any younger and last season was one of his worst since he became a pro.

The Leafs?? They're on their way to become a powerhouse and one of the better run organizations in professional sports. It seems like they did a flip-flop with the habs.

You're just getting warmed up, my friend. I have a few dozen more saved up, which i'll share throughout the season. Go Leafs Go!!!

Do you have some for the Bruins? It hurts to see ppl hating MY team, the Habs! Who won the cup how many times? ;)

I do agree Toronto deserves a great team, so we can crush them when it counts! Tonigh home opener for the Habs, they will win 4 - 2.

Cheers,
