It’s probably similar to NY. The majority of our state isn’t that bad but NYC and the surrounding boroughs are spiking. Our Governor Cuomo has impose a curfew on bars, restaurants, gyms and is limiting gatherings at home to 10 people. The lockdowns have begun:

It seems Montreal isn't the worst place this time - it's elsewhere in Quebec. Not to say it's all dandy here in Mtl, but it's apparently pretty stable.

NJ cases are spiking along with the rest of the US. The positivity rate for the tri state area (NY, NJ and Connecticut) were around 1% over the summer. Everywhere you go people are wearing masks, social distancing, etc. Gyms, restaurants, bars all at minimum capacities and yet COVID-19 cases are still on the rise. I’m trying to remember how the lockdowns and closing all of the businesses are actually helping us.

Manitoba is going in a complete lockdown like the type we had during the first wave. Considering their case numbers they are jumping the gun. This is a preview of things to come. More strict lockdowns will be coming to Ontario and Quebec.

California has now exceeded a million positive COVID cases. Also, Biden’s COVID-19 advisor is recommending a potential one month lockdown to slow the spread. Definitely not a fan of that.

They are not, the virus will wait till lockdowns are over and start up again, just like last time.

New York is closing all the schools today, what Legault is waiting for? All the kids are bringing the virus home from school, is he blind or what? He said the situation is under control! Yet, every day there are over thousands new cases! Yeah right! People are not stupid! The numbers speaks for itself. He can't admit that it's out of control

Schools in NY are still open. NYC mayor said if the positivity rate goes above a 7 day 3% average he will shut down the schools. So far it’s still below 3%. Also, the mayor has made numerous claims in the past that have been shut down by governor Cuomo. They don’t get along at all. If they are going to close the schools they better have a really good reason to do so. Plus, like STN mentioned earlier, COVID-19 will wait for the schools to open anyway.

Don’t think anyone wants a lock down. But under Trumpys leadership your at 150,000 new infections a day. Close to 2000 deaths a day. He showed no signs of pandemic leadership before and especially now after losing, and yes he did lose, and yes it’s becoming apparent by a lot. By the time he leaves office, you may be well over 200,000 new daily infections, perhaps over 2000 deaths, and who knows what the hospital infrastructures will be like and how they are handling strain of all this. All dropped on sleepy joes lap. And who will Trumpy blame, lol???

The article also says: " Revellers packed out pubs this afternoon as they get the last rounds in before England nosedives into a second lockdown. Britons today also stocked up on clothes and homeware, getting ready for their last night out and squeezing in a final gym session for what is the 'last hurrah' for millions."

Oh well, not a bright bunch those brits. Must be the uneducated working class. I hear from another thread that that group doesn't make good decisions.

Guess I was on to something, seems those Brits are indeed not a bright bunch.

The UK is out of control. Highest deaths in all of Europe and 5th in the world. In fact, when it comes to covid, they seem to be killing as many people per million as the US at about 750/million.

It makes me wonder how much 'good leadership' matters. The quote from the article “The problem is when these policies are drawn up the Government assumes everyone will behave..." is interesting. Perhaps the Boy Wonder can help explain.

So, with Biden, you will ultimately get empathy, someone who is polite and politically correct, but I'm not sure you will get an improvement in the Covid case counts or deaths. The simplistic lens through which some see this pandemic is troubling. Looking at the UK, I would choose the US based on the covid response and pretty much every other metric one could think of when comparing countries, every day of the year. Sadly, Canada is a covid disaster as well, and yet JT is the embodiment of empathy and unity, so he thinks ...

Seeing as the UK is a covid cesspool in its own right, and there is no evil orange dictator running that country, I have little hope that Biden will make a difference.

Looks like NY won’t be getting any vaccines until our Governor starts playing nice with the president:

Hmmm...think that NY post article is a bit biased, maybe? Probably....

Cuomo’s secondary review is supposed to be happening concomitantly with FDA and other regulatory boards. So we will have to see if there is a delay in it’s roll out in NY state.

I dont trust Cuomo, but in comparison to Trump, well, there’s no comparison, lol. For him and others to say Trumpy didn’t try and politicize the vaccine roll out is bizarre. Also, the Pfizer vaccine has nothing to do with Trumpy or any government agency like the moderna vaccine. It doesn’t have anything to do with trumpy. Has everything to do with Pfizer. All Trumpys done with the Pfizer vaccine is called the ceo asking him to crank it out by Election Day.
