Where I belong.
A Phew Phun Phacts as April moves into it's last week.

1. Not counting two games where they feasted off the leaky sphincter of the Cleveland rotation, the light hitting Yankees have a run differential of -5.

2. Not counting the Cleveland games, the light hitting Yankees have scored more than four earned runs twice in 18 games.

3. Outside of those Cleveland games, the light hitting Yankees are averaging a pitful 3.68 earned runs per game.

4. When Ryan Dempster allowed 4 runs on Saturday, it marked the first (and only) time this season that a Red Sox starter has allowed more than 3 runs in a game.

Ah, don't you just love it when I make a mistake and you have something to give your life meaning, if only for a few minutes?

Ah, rumps, I don't live for your mistakes. My life is not that shallow. I have to say one thing, rumps. You do make lots of mistakes.

Good thing, because your sad life would be even emptier than it is. You do, however, seem to live for my every post and, if not, why do your actions on this board conflict with your claim? Let's just see how capable you are of ignoring me.

Mr. Rumps, cantankerous, narcissistic, arrogant old man, tells me I have a sad life and it would be emptier if he wasn't posting on MERB.

When you complain about personal attacks, rumps, you should make sure you aren't the initial attacker.

Does this amazing (sarcastically said) stat matter if this season is only 19 games old and your Red Sox have 143 to play?????

Well, iggy old pal, it's kind of hard to run away after 19 games, however, a gap of .105 points is pretty sweet at any time of year. The only team leading a division by more are the Atlanta Braves.

And as for injuries, the Sox have been playing without David Ortiz, who is, by all accounts, worth more than strikeoutmaster Granderson and the declining Teixeira combined.

If you take note, DD, I only respond to your incessant responses to my posts. I generally ignore you and would be pleased as punch if you'd respond in kind. 99.3% of your posts, on the other hand, are confrontational and in direct response to either me or Merlot. If we were to depart, you'd have nothing left. Again, I invite you to ignore me.

Hey rumps, I respond to you because your posts are either wrong, biased, inflammatory to Yankee players or Yankee supporters on Merb.

You even bring in Merlot. Gee, Merlot? Isn't he the guy who has been stalking me about my other favorite teams?

No, rumps I don't have to answer to you or Merlot. I have been a baseball fan for a long time. Not as long as you (because you are a deal older than me), but what does that matter?

And about your Red Sox. Red Sox are playing good baseball. However, there isn't a weak team in the AL East. I suspect that their performance won't be as good as their first 20 games. As I see it, any team in the AL East can win the title.

Haven't you learned anything from M11 yet Iggy? He catches you fully quoting the post above yours and who knows what he'll do!! ;) Yes, tough night at Fenway tonight, beautiful temp of 40, raw, rainy, yech. Aceves fell apart in the 3rd but on a positive note the Yankees have only scored their usual 2 runs a game so far going into the 9th. Lol.

Rumour has it M11 hates sports and Fred cant pay him enuff (or anything for that matter) to mod the sports sections!

Phillip Hughes is looking good tonight, went tooth and nail with one of the games best, David Price. Thats huge for the Yanks to get PH back to pitching like he did a few years ago.

Nice to get one like this out of the system. And much better to lose 13-0 than to score 9 runs and waste them to a lousy pitching job. (Of course, Yankee fans don't know what it's like to score 9 runs, but they can imagine it.)

Minus Arod, Jeter, Texiera, Granderson............ and for rumps, Swisher, Martin, Chavez and Ibanez..... did i forget anyone rumpie?

Just the facts. The Yankees have scored one less run that the Red Sox in 1 less game. Therefore they are averaging more runs a game than the Red Sox.

Yankees lead the AL in homers with 28 and OPS with .781.

Don't bother rumps with Facts. He frequently ignores them.

Actually, Beav, your link does not include tonight's games, but you are correct in your figures.

http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings

Yanks have scored 93 runs in 19 games for an average of 4.89 runs a game.

Red Sox have scored 94 runs in 20 games for an average of 4.7 runs a game.

Yankees have been scoring more than the Red Sox. Why do some ignore this Fact? An Inconvenient truth?

And don't you love that 13-0 trouncing of the Red Sox by the A's? Red Sox were lucky it rained or their run differential quoted by rumps every day would have fell even further.

Yes, the Yankees have shown a remarkable ability to score runs against guys who shouldn't be pitching in the big leagues, dropped fly balls, and thrown away bunts. If you omit the Cleveland games, where the Yanks missed McAllister and Masterson, and the two game donating errors, the Yanks are pulling 3.6 runs per game. Absent those games, the light hitting Yankees are a well deserved game under .500. If I were a Yankee fan, which thank god I'm not, I'd be very concerned about that. Or I'd be hiding my head under a blanket, while ignoring the obvious.

Oh, rumps, you are in fantasy land.

Red Sox scored 19 of their 94 runs against the Cleveland Indians winning 3 games 7-2, 6-3 and 6-3.

Yankees scored 25 of their 93 runs against the Cleveland Indians winning 2 games 11-6 and 14-1.

If you take away the Indians from the Red Sox schedule, Red Sox have scored 75 runs in 17 games, which is 4.41 runs a game.

If you take away the Indians from the Yankees schedule, Yankees have scored 68 runs in 16 games, which is 4.25 runs a game.

Not a hell of a lot of difference, rumps.

So instead of ranting like a mental patient about the Yankees lack of runs minus Cleveland, why don't you look at your own team? Better yet, why don't you stop ranting all together? Yankees are doing pretty well considering they are missing several of their key hitters.
