To think that Yanks fan are counting on Cervelli and Nunez brings me great joy. Rumps is right in his stat checking that both have and likely always will pretty much suck. I'm not very high on Ichiro's effectiveness either for the remainder of his career. I'm sure they will have some luck and production from one of their replacements, whether it be Romine or Adams if either stick with the team.

Hahaha!!!, good one K, rumps is never right, which makes his delusional posts absolutely fucking hilarious!!!, great comic relief after a hard days work, I read his posts everyday for stress relief, thank you rumples.:thumb:

Damn, K. You are learning rumps baseball vocabulary. Maybe, when rumps becomes GM of the Red Sox, he can make you a bench coach, a scout or something like that. You can go around pointing out the guys who suck to your boss, rumps. :thumb:

Gee. Joe T., are you saying rumps baseball acumen sucks? You wouldn't be a good reference for rumps in this new GM job. Stick with K, rumps; he'll give you a much better reference. :thumb:

The competition for Comeback Player of the Year might be a 3 way race between Lyle Overbay, Vernon Wells and Travis Hafner of the Yankees. All have come through again tonight. The common thread is that they decided to wear Pinstripes. They decided they wanted to play some ball and NYC was the place where they could prove they still have it. All 3 are proving it.

Ok, watching the Yanks game, Brett Gardner just got picked off of first blatantly on video and was called safe but please tell me WHAT THE FUCK IS HE WEARING AN OVEN MITT FOR!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You have a link? Missed that play. I don't drink beer or anything while watching the game.

First base ump has been having a tough game. He missed the call on Granderson. Granderson was surely safe. He also missed the call on Chris Davis, I believe, but it could have been another Orioles player. Buck Showalter had a long conversation with the first base ump. I thought the ump missed both calls.

I haven't seen Gardner's oven mitt. It could be a BIG stretch, but maybe he has a luau after the game?

Yes, great comeback against the Orioles.

Sabathia didn't have a great night, but he kept it close. Hafner's 9th inning HR heroics gave the Yankees a chance to win it, and he added to the lead knocking in Wells.

Hey you Boston fans, what happened with your guy John Lester? He gave up 6 runs, 5 ER, in 6 innings. He wasn't so sharp out there last night.

Mariano Rivera posted his 17th save. Should Mariano even think about retirement? He's incredible. He's surely going to retire on top.

Great comeback win last night.... good teams find ways to win and this was just another example. I am almost not wanting Tex and Arod back and messing with the chemistry the Yanks have these days, Overbay, Hafner and Wells have been huge to this team so far and they all have lit a fire not only in themselves, but in the team as well.... I do however think Youkilis will be a nice addition when he comes back, even tho David Adams looks like an awful good player. Of course whenever we can get the likes of a Derek Jeter back, we will take it, nice to have that leadership and when he does come back he will be 100% (or he wont be back until he is)

When the first infielder returns from the DL (probably Nunez), Ben Francisco will be released since either Adams or Brignac could fake it as the emergency 5th OF if necessary.

Right now Ben Francisco has mold in his ass crack from lack of use and sitting on the bench since April. Guys who are never used gotta get released.

The roar gets louder. Here's Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports on why Montreal deserves a major league team. He misses a few key points, but gets a lot right. http://msn.foxsports.com/video/MLB?vid=2f55e51f-c384-4f30-9c7d-e730106b58a8

Very interesting. I am not sure how selling the rights in French and English will double the owners TV revenue, because the audience share would be split between the 2 audiences.

But I agree with Mr. Morosi that a baseball team in Montreal would do well, if they were to keep their star players or go after some star players through free agency, unlike the Expos who got rid of their players once a player got too expensive.

Correct. If you recall, the Expos had no English broadcasts in their last few years.

The biggest omission in Morosi's piece was the huge draw the new team would be if the Rays were the team moved to Montreal. Nine home games per year against the Sox, Yanks, and Jays would draw pretty close to 1,000,000 in just 1/3 of the home schedule.

Sign me up for at least 30-40 homes games per season, possibly more. Oh well, it is fun to dream about getting a MLB team back in Montreal, it cant come quick enuf.

I went to my 1st Expos game their last season (2004) against the Houston Astros. I think Frank Robinson was the manager. There were not too many fans at the game (under 5,000) and I got to meet Youppi. I do recall something unusual about the game which is that a fair ball hit down into foul territory ended up getting interfered with and it was not called a ground rule double and there was controversy. I think the interference ended up helping the Astros.

Mark my word: it will happen. I'm actually a little surprised that the buzz is picking up as quickly as it is. I do think, however, that it might just take 10 years.

Milwaukee got a second chance. Seattle and Kansas City, too. Washington's now had three chances. Montreal is the second largest metropolitan area in North America without an MLB team. The biggest, Riverside/San Bernardino/Ontario CA, will never get one because that area is controlled by the LA Dodgers and they'll never let another team in.

I hope you are right, and it is sooner. I just wonder since Houston moved from the NL to the AL, resulting in 15 teams in each league, a MLB team in Montreal would only happen by having an existing team move to Montreal and not by expansion, unless each League added a team and divided into 4 Divisions of 4 teams each.

The Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim are near Riverside/San Bernardino also.
