Hey BOYZ!
Oooooopsss! red sox won 2 out of 3 vs. the Yanks...
What...no Yankees playoffs count down...no Red Sox collapse baloney from Joe.
The Yankees couldn't give Sabathia away without eating the bulk of his contract. Talk about the very picture of suckitude. $23 million for a .500 pitcher.
$128,000,000 on te active roster and out of the race before the first of August. Pitiful. Cashman and Girardi should be fired today, not tomorrow, today.
Napoli...Napoli...Napoli...and the Yankees go down. The Yankees were lucky to stay in the game due to an exceptionally rare throwing error by Iglesias one of the best fielders in the game. But Napoli, who has been working hard on pure contact sure showed how well it works against Yankee pitching.
As for Sabathia, the big invulnerable horse, as EB loves to describe him, doesn't have the same stuff any more. The numbers, with a rising ERA and Rising BA against him, show he's declining to no better than a number 3 pitcher at this time. He's tied for second in giving up the most home runs, and he threw 100 pitches giving up 7 earned runs in 5 innings.
Is there a Yankee conspiracy going on with A-Rod or is his body breaking down per roids? There's lots of speculation that the Yankees are playing up questionable injuries for insurance money, especially since A-Rod claimed to be ready to return and was rudely told by Cashman to STFU!!!. If this was the Red Sox our friend Joe.t would be screaming...Dirtiest, Rotten, Cheating team in HISTORY...and Iggy would be kissing his ass. However, as usual I go with the facts and the likelihood. A-Rod continues to weaken and break down. In his latest interviews he seems to losing muscle mass. Is it age? Or the loss of his little helpers? :eyebrows: I say his further decline is very real.
PEDROIA:
The word on WEEI today was Pedey and the Red Sox are discussing a long term contract for something in the neighborhood of $20 million per year. This seems a bit high on the surface except for several important points. The least of which is he gave the Sox a big hometown discount last time. Better points are, outstanding fielding, great contact hitter, decent power, work ethic practically unheard of (the joke is you have to shoot him to get him to take a day off), never takes a play off unlike Cano (according to many critics) at times, terrific leader and clubhouse motivator, only Cano can compare in production from the 2nd base position. I just hope it isn't too long, 5-6 maximum.
Whatever Pedroia gets Cano will drive the Yankees crazy demanding more because of his better power numbers.
Cheers,
Merlot
