17 Second CHOKE JOB of all Choke Jobs!
Actually, if you consider the time it took for Dave Roberts to steal second base, and for Bill Mueller to drive him in, THAT was the 17 second choke job of all choke jobs. I wonder if they'll put that on Mariano's plaque in the Coop.

It's been pretty well established that the Joe.T Theory of the Way History Works is that if it happened once, it will happen every time, hence Joe's incessant mumbling about the Red Sox inevitable collapse since it happened last year. Yawn.

Well, the Sox record after 97 games is 58-39. When was the last time the Sox were 58-39 after 97 games? 2007. How'd that one work out, Joe?

Should be a good one! Mariano coming in for his final ASG appearance will light up Citi Field (with all the flashbulbs going off) the list of memories in Yankees Lore grows once again, tonight.

I'm sure there was no intent on Harvey's part

I think he said something to Cano as he left the field......

Yea Harvey said in an interview after he came out he would never do that on purpose and felt bad...he seems like a great guy. (hopefully he is a Yankee one day along with Trout and Harper) Cano's Xrays were negative btw.

Which, of course, they will be. Just as soon as they turn 32, Brian Cashdollar will give them each 10 year/$250 million deals.

I was a bit disappointed by the All Stars match yesterday, fell asleep before the end...
I do not care for pitcher matches, I prefer to see players run and get dirty then seeing guys after guys miss and get striked out...

I've got just the solution: Montreal

From this morning's Tampa Bay Times:
Baseball commissioner Selig says patience thin over Rays attendance
NEW YORK — Baseball commissioner Bud Selig said his patience is running thin in his latest ominous-sounding assessment of the Rays' ongoing attendance and stadium issues.

"It is beyond disappointing," Selig said Tuesday. "You cannot ask a franchise to continue, when they have been so competitive and really, really done a marvelous job, in a situation that is economically not tolerable."

Selig offered no solutions or deadlines, saying he will continue conversations with Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg, but took a double-barreled shot at the Tampa Bay situation.

He called the Rays' attendance "very disappointing and very worrisome," citing their average 17,791, which ranks 29th in the majors (ahead of only Miami) and well below the overall average of 30,268.

"Look at their club in the major leagues and it's competitive, and is averaging 18,000 people a game," he said. "That may have been okay in 1956, but it's not okay today."

And Selig said Tropicana Field, where the Rays are in the 16th season of a 30-year use agreement, is a major issue.

"There's no question there's a stadium problem," Selig said. "There's no debate about it. The question is what to do about it and when to do it and where, and those are conversations Mr. Sternberg and I will have."

Selig, speaking to the Baseball Writers Association of America, made it sound as if those talks with Sternberg will become more urgent.

"I have a very high level of frustration," Selig said. "I think my patience is running as thin as his, if not more so. I don't know what will happen with that; he and I need to have a lot more conversations."

Selig said he would discuss with Sternberg the possibility of a visit to talk with Tampa Bay area officials.

Team president Matt Silverman said the Rays had no comment on Selig's comments. Sternberg has had talks with St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster and said he hopes the issue heats up after the season.

Big day for Expos fans coming up this Saturday in Toronto. The Expos will be honored by the Jays on that day & all Expos fans are encouraged to attend the game for the festivities. Fans are encouraged to attend the game wearing Expos apparel. Not sure yet if i'll be in attendance, but hope to be.

Go Expos!!!

Boys, you are about to witness a collapse of epic, monumental proportions!
I would hardly call the beating the Yankees are going to take in Beantown this weekend a collapse, Joe. They're already toast.

You forgot that Michael Pineda is waiting in the wings and he is a potential #1 starter.
And so is my Aunt Beatrice. Here's an update on minor leaguer Pineda, "Michael Pineda will make his third Scranton/Wilkes-Barre start tonight. It’s the Triple-A team’s first game after their own All-Star break. Pineda allowed six earned runs through 4.2 innings in his previous start."

For the record, Pineda is no longer on the major league roster. His rehab period is up and he's been optioned to Scranton-Wilkes Barre for the foreseeable future.

Blue Jays will win the division and Buchholz to hit the DL by the all star break, my two sure shot predictions for baseball this year.

God damn I am the man when it comes to predicting the Red Sox, I should have bet the house on this one considering it was a given.

http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story...-scratches-bullpen-session-lingering-soreness

Very disturbing quote from the injury report and I quote "When a pitcher develops inflammation in the shoulder's bursa sac, it frequently is a symptom of damage to the rotator cuff ".

It definitely sounds like his career is in jeopardy, hope I'm wrong because he seems like a nice guy despite the fact that he is a dirty, rotten, cheater.

You the man, Joe. Let's see, now that you're 1 for 100, if you'd bet 100$ on each prediction, you'd only be down 9,800$.

Tell me, Joe, why couldn't I find this quote in the report? You wouldn't make something like this up, now, would you? How's life in Desperationville?

I tell ya Mr.T, you sure know how to push the buttons of our 2 homer red sox fans tonight tho, took one only 2 minutes to respond to the quote below and the other about 15 minutes. (word has it one would of responded sooner but was busy deleting other posts from the last 24 hours, that and he had to get a new comfy seat for the fence)
