The Stars weren’t very convincing with the quality of their shots on goal in the last games. Also unable to get the rebound inside the slot, I think it will be quite different against the Panthers.
Pavelski finally is starting to look his age. This is his first playoffs i can remember him not being an effective player. Last night was also the first game i was impressed with Skinner. Dallas badly outshot the Oilers even though many of the shots were from bad angles but i’ll give credit to Skinner for doing the job.

I think the week off will greatly benefit Florida considering physical hockey is their biggest asset. They need the much-needed rest more than the Oilers do & being a week off the ice will halt the Oilers’ momentum. A week off couldn’t happen at the worse time for the Oilers & Skinner especially.

Florida in 6.

I am inclined to believe that this matchup doesn't favor Edmonton.

You said the same thing about Dallas, makes me want to bet on Edmonton now. Just joking, Florida has a great team but all Edmonton needs is to click for four games and they do have the talent.

I tend to agree with this prediction. The scenario in which Edmonton wins is for McDavid and Draisaitl to play out of their minds, which is going to be very hard to do with a team that forechecks relentlessly, and is likely to throw them off their games. Draisaitl may be focusing on his free agency and the big contract Boston is going to be offering him. He may even have his girlfriend looking at homes and apartments in Boston. Or New York, if the Rangers can convince Edmonton to do a sign and trade for Zibenajad and picks. He needs to focus on the task at hand.

It's not just Draisaitl and McD this post season with many points. The Florida penalties will also hurt them.

I tend to think the same, the long break, as you say, could have a devastating effect on the Oilers momentum. In sports, generally speaking, athletes who are on a winning streak, will prefer to keep surfing on the wave without much interruption, superstitions play a big part here.

Hopefully Skinner got the jitters out, 2 goals on 5 shots is not Cupe de Stanley material.
Can hardly blame him for the 2 goals though, one was the perfect tic-tac-toe play and the other resulted from a sloppy defensive play in the corner. But sure if you compare him to the Bob, he is not at the same level
