Here is the BR report on offseason moves by the Rangers, which discusses possibly signing Steve Stamkos as a free agent. I am not in favor of such a move, even though I like Stamkos. I don't think he is the guy who gets them past Florida:

Oilers got 2 pp goals and 3 shots total in the first!!! Bad timing for the Stars to lose their PK efficiency.
I don’t see much forecheck going on between these two teams, makes me wonder how the winner will cope with the Panthers constant pressure. Normally McDavid, like Crosby, tends to lose his focus when tightly checked.

Well Edmonton got the best of it but I don’t think I ever seen a playoff game won while getting only 10 shots on goal!!!
The Dallas kids will have to learn to shoot top shelf, too many pucks ending in the center of Skinner’s crest! Also their guys at the point not able to deliver a single one timer, always need to stop the puck, position themselves and then aim! Too easy for the defenders to block these shots.

The Oilers stars don't like being tightly checked. They want Power Plays and open ice and odd man rushes. Traffic around them, forechecking and contact are nuisances that prevent stat accumulation.

I am inclined to believe that this matchup doesn't favor Edmonton. On the other hand, Edmonton showed signs of having a real defense against the Stars. I would tend to go with Florida on an even money bet with no odds.
The Stars weren’t very convincing with the quality of their shots on goal in the last games. Also unable to get the rebound inside the slot, I think it will be quite different against the Panthers.
