The Yankees had the best record in the AL in 1994, only a few games off the Expos. The Yankees had a really good team that year. I think at the time of the strike Ken Griffey Jr. had 40+ homers and was leading the majors. A lot of possibilities existed that were shut down by the strike. Also, I think Yankee Paul O'Neill won the AL batting title that year hitting .360 or so with 21 homers 83 RBIs. O'Neill was headed towards 30 homers and 100 RBIs if there was no strike.
