bare back blow jobs

I know it's a dumb question, but assuming you are not bleeding from your gums, can you get STD's from receiving a blow job? I'm sure it's remotely remotely possible, but what is the knowledge/consensus out there?

Merci bien,
Garito

If you have no open cut/sore, there is no way for a germ to enter your system. If the SP has braces or a studded tongue and scratches you, a germ can be transmitted. If her smile shines from metal, do not go bare. It is too easy for a brace wire to loosen and scratch you duing a session.

And re Chad's post: Also note that if she's wearing braces or a tongue stud, make sure she changes condoms if you were getting a CBJ and you switch to FS. A nick in the condom can shred it during FS. This actually happened to me once with an SP who wore braces who turned out to be having her period.

All it cost me was three months of HIV tests (all negative, for the record).

I did contract gonorrhea from a in germany last year. the girl did not cut me or wear braces. gonorrhea can live in the throat and she definately passed it to me through oral sex. this has scared me off of `s which basically ruins the whole experience.

Ugh. Well, I guess I should`a figured. It seems even though those delightful spermatazoa are anxious to get out, it is still possible for an infection in a woman`s saliva to worm it`s way into your urethra. And to respond to Splayjester, above, a deep throat seems to me to be exactly the same as a more shallow throated . It`s just woman`s mouth on man`s naked penis, period.

Sometimes I would just like the simple act of a sensuous MP to swallow me up at the appropriate time. I guess it`s too much to ask of this infected world? Just the thought of HIV can ruin your family vacation. I was once in Utah and kept calling my doc for blood results....ugh, you get the picture.

Dickgozinya, how are you soooo sure that it was the that got you that germ? A doctor once told me there are few statistics here. Most guys providing data are also involved in other kinds of sex and it all gets confusing to separate out.
Thoughts?

You can't get HIV from receiving oral sex. Period. HIV is not present in saliva. That's why you don't contract it from kissing.

I'm sure you can come up with some wild scenario under which it "could" happen...like if an SP infected with HIV were to have a bleeding cut in her mouth, and you happened to have a large wound on your penis (sounds like a lot of fun!). Even under these ridiculous circumstances it would be extremely unlikely for you to contract HIV from a BJ.

HIV is extremely difficult to contract. And you are not going to contract it this way.

 From what I understood , after reading a lot of different documentation about the subject, it seems that presents more risks for the ``perfomers`` than the ``receiver``. Certain acts like gargling whisky or any type of strong alcohol before, may reduce the chances of growing some type of germs. Saliva itself contains enzymes that kills a lot of bacteria. So a good wet and sloppy is good in some way but don`t get bitten, lol!:D

HIV is probably almost impossible to catch..only if a few very circumstantial events take place like already mentioned...the most possible is also mentioned above, like stated- if it looks broke, dont trust it basically. If you see sores, funny stuff then don`t go near it. Of course afetr many get , cim, natural paraoia sets in. The slightest itch, etc. and you start getting nervous. However, these could have been things going on forever, but b/c you performed the act the stress comes into play. CBJ is obviously the safe place way to go. I have had CIM 6-7 times with about 4 girls and not anything for me. with numerous different girls...none of them looked like soethign was wrong meaning sores etc. My only question is there are member saying thy caught stuff- shouldn`t they be stating the possible SPs they got it from?

Please everyone, be advised that while HIV has basically no chances to infect you with a blow job (unless as stated there are cuts in the mouth AND on your penis), there are a few diseases that can ruin your whole life that you can get during oral sex.

No one has mentionned herpes, a disease that cannot be treated and that is extremely easy to catch, so I would be careful on that one, it may not show that your partner has it, but it is still contagious (no cold sore doesn't mean go for it). While unlikely, it might be possible to catch hepatitis B and/or C during oral sex, according to some articles on the web. You can also get syphillis, chlamidia and many other diseases, which fortunately, are treatable.

Be careful!

I think that you should be posing this question to your doctor, or if you want consensus, a group of doctors, not on an Internet discussion board where people refer to participation in a brief relationship with a prostitute as a 'hobby'; although I'm sure some could write a graduate thesis and even become a Master of Street Hookery.

But I'm curious, whether or not your gums are bleeding, and you are receiving a blow job, I don't see how that affects the risk. Surely you meant if the person providing said blow job had bleeding gums?

I've been told by my doctor and read numerous places that even mini-abrasions caused by brushing one's teeth could increase the risk of passing on STDs between provider and recipient when performing oral sex, but again, don't believe what you read on this board.

Call your doctor. Check Health Canada's website where they have done actual studies not involving having the girl take a big swig of alcohol as a "preventative" measure. (Alcohol, even in massive doses would have zero effect on certain STDs, for example).

Good luck to you and your penis!

And remember, half of all doctors finished below average in Med School :)

Which would still be a higher grade than that earned by the denizens of this discussion group, and doesn't account for the various stages (residency, etc.) one must pass through prior to getting your MD and becoming a practicing doctor.

Well guys, thanks for all the comments. About asking my doctor, he told me I could catch everything that way. He said not only do things come out of the penis, but they can go in. Well, I guess he was just hedging on being cautious. Cautious to the point of the extreme. That`s why I turned to you learned `hobbyists`. As is typical with medicine, and as my dad has often said, you`ve got to become your own doctor these days.

I think the advice someone gave to read up on the Canadian medical web site is a good idea. A problem I once heard from an AIDs info line was that a controlled experiment with subjects that ONLY had `s is quite hard to find. Usually ``those`` people also had other types of sex too and the study must be done over time as the infection doesn`t show up the next day or week or month, sometimes. Sooooo, it`s an ugly mix and my opinion so far is that you can probably get other diseases this way such as the permanent herpies. Not certain, of course. Also, someone`s point about the worry after the act I know can drive you crazy. That`s not really worth it. Thanks for the input. It`s all a bit of a gamble and I need to read up some more on this.

Remember that from a scientific standpoint if something is possible, even if the chances are extremly thin, it is a possibility so it cannot be ruled out.
