Really? What would stop LE from following the agency ban making drop offs to clients? They note the hotel room and hotel at each drop off. At the end of her shift they slap her with a subpoena and ask her to describe each client. They subpoena the names of each hotel room renter. Of course they will not have anything unless she says she was having sex for money. But guess what. They can intimidate her, as they always do with witnesses, etc.

I suppose they could go into each legally rented hotel room if they suspect a crime is being committed? Before C-36, there was no crime. Now, they made the buying of sex even in a privately rented room a crime. It makes things complicated.

Any defense attorney would politely let her know that his questions during deposition would be designed in part to discover if no sex occurred and to discover if she used a false allegation of sex to try to extort the defendant...

I don't know much about how testimonies work, but in that case does the escort's testimony ''belongs'' to the crown? As I see it, even if the crown does not call her as a witness, the defense could. I could pay the time of my attorney to coach her to testify for my side. A good pep talk and some pointers on how to say ''I don't remember'' convincingly without being intimidated. Now that they have zero legitimate leverage to get her to cooperate with the crown, any charge against a client has the potential of the sex worker being on the side of the defense instead. Most escorts would prefer to remain anonymous and not testify at all, but I'm sure there are some who would.

I agree completely. What I was trying to say is that if they agree to testify at all, it will most likely be in the favor of their clients. This can make prosecutions of clients even more difficult. The escort will not only refuse to cooperate with the police but she could cooperate with the defense.
