MODUS OPERANDI ( M O ) Method of Operation.

To help other members avoid the rip off, perhaps her M O should be revealed here.

- Where she likes to meet her victims.

- What kind of meeting does she suggest to entice her victims into a trap.

- Her reaction and words after the trap has been sprung.

- If she is reluctant to call the police after the event.

This sort of thing can go horribly bad in seconds and much more unfortunate events can occur than just a robbery.

FYI - Today n the craigs list, there was an ad by a girl that claimed to be a student studying to bea nursing assistant. She needed $150 and was looking for an arrangement to pay her student fees. There was another ad in the Craigslist last week by a girl willing to meet with stangers to pay her vet bill for her sick dog. I think it is better to be safe than to be sorry when it comes to responding to these ads. They may be traps.

Ad from todays Craigslist :

TODAY SUNDAY need of 150$ - w4m (montreal)

Hello everyone,

Due to new information we have received, this thread has now been re-opened.

Mod 8

Kudos to the mods and the board for re-opening this thread. Have been trying to make sense of this situation for awhile and the longer the thread runs the more confusing it gets. So let's try to condense the info into a logical format.

Two very basic questions. What part of town did this happen - general proximity would be fine, example closest Metro station?
What time of day?

BTW - have not seen the providers name - just her agency or indie aliases.

I may be a bit paranoid, but if you are careful there is less chance you will get your skull cracked. To reveal her M O would be a geat help to the members.

I also probably wouldn't have bothered calling the cops. They wouldn't have a clue how to find the culprit in the first place. Mtl cops remind me of the keystone cops.

Wow, and I was under the impression that they were the reason Montreal was one of the safest cities in North America. Thanks for clarifying this Doc, there must be another reason!!

GTA, I agree with you on giving the specifics of the M.O. used. Being prepared and knowing how these people operate is defenitely a plus.

Also, no matter if the girl was involved or not, it might not be the first time the thief does this. This is why I still urge Dr. to see the cops, even without giving specific names. Seeing escorts is legal in Canada so, he won't get into trouble by doing so.

Of course, if he does, it might be a good idea to avoid saying so here. Maybe he is not the first one this happen to and cops are already looking for clues on other similar case and, maybe the next guy won't be so lucky. Thieves and tugs like that thrive on people's silence.

Eastender, read again, it's there. Unless I don't understand what you are looking for.

GTA, let's not get paranoid. Lots of CL ads are girls in need of a quick buck, with no hidden agenda.

True.

Basically trying to look at the randomness issue or possibilities from a totally different perspective based on what was known at the time I made the post.

I have never met this escort and never will under the circumstances.

In the 14 years that I have been hobbying traveling to Montreal, I have never engaged an escort outside of my hotel room. I have seen independents, but I never met them outside of the hotel room.

That being said, I always thought of engaging escorts in Montreal of being a safer venture than the US. In the US, all forms of SP is not legal except for a few places in Nevada. Rhode Island used to have a loophole, but they recently closed it. So on rare occasions you can get robbed in the process and I suppose a guy in that situation would be somewhat relunctant to go to the police for some obvious reasons.

However, in those situations, the police almost never prosecute the victim.

There are 2 reasons why Dr. EW should go to the police.

If there is a police report, they would be stupid to do physical harm to Dr. EW. They would be the #1 suspects. Yes, they will talk to her. If she was involved, she probably will deny it. Unless she is an entirely bad actress, the police will question her and that is it. They may ask if she has a boyfriend and may talk to him. And he will probably deny it.

The second reason would be if she was involved, she needs to know how serious of a matter this is. Armed robbery and conspiracy to commit arm robbery is no joke. If this guy was nervous or on drugs and there was any type of hestitation, he could have shot (if it was a real and loaded gun). If you let her go without going to the police, it may enbolden her. All they have to do, if she was involved, would be to threaten and scare the next victim like they have done to you.

And do you think she could not get another job at another agency in 6 months time? and start seeing guys on the side? Or post CL ads? The guys who have seen her will know her, but the ones who have not will not know her.

Doc is but one man's opinion carved out of one man's experience. You sound like you're riding his jock.

Forgive my hostility, I have no reason to think otherwise as I haven't had enough experience to form an opinion. I just generally feel that good cops get a bad wrap unnecessarily by generalizing statements of police.

Of course. We cannot generalize about the 7,222 employees on the police force. Some are assholes, some are amazing, brave people who bust their asses on behalf of us all, or on behalf of us as individuals. They cover a broad spectrum, just like any other group. Someone among them is the best, another the worst.

What I don't think holds water is the idea of "I probably would have taken matters into my own hands" which sounds like brave, macho horse-shit spoken from behind the safety of a computer screen. The guy may have had a gun, Doc. What do you propose to do, go to the girl's home and interrogate her yourself, armed to the teeth? That sounds like a great idea.

Common Sense

Dr Who,

You should talk to LE immediately. My experience with LE says they could care less about your "hobbying" if armed robbery is involved. Cops hate guns - rightfully so. If you are up front with them, they will help you.

EB suggested that you should have been more careful, learn from the experiece. With due respect, we are not talking about "bait and switch", stealing you wallet, scamming you. Thats all part of the game we play. YOU HAD A GUN HELD TO YOUR HEAD ! I can't imagine that happening without trying to remove that c**ksuckers and any accomplices threat from your life as soon as possible

As a combat vet (Vietnam), I know what it is like to be shot at, and shot. I have lived in abject fear without escape, and have pledged to never do so again if I have recourse.

"It's not just protection for this year. It's protection over the rest of my life I am talking about."

FUCK THAT - I have been so scared that pee ran down my leg. Do NOT be afraid to live your life in peace and tranquility. Take the action available to you - have courage now - don't live your life in fear !

Nothing is more dangerous than an unloaded (fake) gun. This girl is playing a dangerous game. If you still want to help her, if you have empathy for her , don't worry about her reputation, future job prospects, etc.
If she or her BF pull a gun on someone serious (or in my case someone so scared shitless they violently react) then this thread will be moot

And what exactly do you feel they are going to do to protect me?

As it stands she may be pissed off at me but I have not contacted the police as I said I would not.
I suppose you feel that the deterrent threat of being exposed is less protection than the police would provide?

It's not just protection for this year. It's protection over the rest of my life I am talking about.

Dr. EW,

I am most certain that this entire situation has taken on proportions that you could not even have imagined when you originated it.

From my seat here in the virtual theater, you did what you felt to be right. That drew out everyone's opinions, and started a real s**tstorm here and in other places. At one point I even saw a homespun alibi on blue from the alleged perp claiming something totally implausible (the way it was described)...I mean, read it...and you decide if its plausible.

Anyway, I commend you for having the courage to put the info out there - thank you for your attempt to protect the other members here.
I commend the mods for managing this thread as they have done.

Whether or not you go to LE is your decision. At best IMHO you will file a report that will be inconclusive and it will be on record. At worst someone in LE decides they want to play god for the day and the can really screw with you...turning you into the victim. I can see it from both angles. Maybe if you knew someone that knew someone in LE and they would handle it right reporting it may be the right thing to do...?
I am just glad I am not the one that has to make that decision. Only you know the details, only you can decide. You have to live with the decision. You had the gun to your head.

Good Luck. Stay strong. I hope you find peace with this eventually. Be well.

Here is to happier subjects and more fun days!

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the term "riding his jock". My statement was quite clear and courteous, so I see no reason for your hostility either. I believe I've only referred to the Montreal Police Department once on this entire board, other than the current thread

About Brandy …

Cause the thread starter thinks she might be involved and cause it would be
considered important to know more about the lady at this moment :

Brandy was cought steeling money to MSC clients from her first days with us.
After meeting her, I never received any complain about this. That being said, later,
I cought her seeing clients from the agency on the side, it was clear in her thread she was.
How could I get complains this way, since the clients where seeing her outside the agency ...

Again, I did talk to the lady. Finally, she said she had to leave … applying a NRP for her on that story.

Anyway, from the first post, not that I didn’t had any other names in mind, I did as well have Brandy's in line.
Unfortunately, I asked her when this came out, again yesterday and again she denied still being in the business.

For the rest, you make you're own conclusions.

Hello Dr. W,

Of course it's your choice, but I have to agree with Lublaw. Even if the police don't run a thorough investigation on your case it's better to have this episode on an official record. You are already in a situation since this happened where you are still confronting or dealing with those who according to you may be involved in multiple criminal acts with potential deadly force. Getting this episode on the record so that the antagonists will know they will be the first suspects in any further moves will be a better deterrent than doing nothing. Doing nothing only tells them they can threaten you without involvement of the LE. And since you don't seem to have had any peace of mind since this started, reporting it may help you. Having the police at least putting these two on notice, if they are running armed robbery scams, will tell them they have nothing to gain from harassing you. They will probably realize there is no proof to convict them and that it's much safer and wiser to back off. With an existing report they will probably not want to risk further connection to this episode that may only help prove the case against them.....in my theory.

Thanks Jessy. Interesting that this indicates a previous history (theft) similar to what happened, and her denial that she is still "in the business" after this report BY Dr W that she saw at least one former client (him) in the same way as when she saw him as an escort puts further doubt on her credibility.

Good luck,

Merlot

Hello everyone,

Let's keep the flaming and shots at each other out of this thread. If I see one more flame post in this thread that person will be gone for a long time. Keep your posts on topic.

Much more open to the discussion? There are 23 posts in their thread on this subject, 13 of them by their resident idiot and source of more false information than all other hobbyists combined. This is what you call more open? I have made no threats in this thread, I have however, insisted that this thread be kept on topic instead of degrading into a flame war between members.

If you do not understand the role of a MERB moderator by now, I suggest you post where you find the moderation more to your liking.

Hello newman1,
Do yourself a favor and go back and read both threads. I have.
I think you will see some inconsistencies, exaggerations and untruths in one of the threads.
In my opinion it goes to the issue of credibility.
You can draw your own conclusions.
I think the mods have done a nice job moderating a touchy issue here and keeping the subject on track.
Just my opinion.
