Northeast India and neighboring Bangladesh have been hit by heavier than usual monsoon rains, causing widespread flooding. At least nine people have been killed and 2 million left homeless in the Indian state of Assam.

Experts say floods following seasonal rains are increasing due to climate change.
Southeast Asia hit by monsoons?! Good God what's happening?!

If I worry about climate change, it's for my children and their future children.

Not for me, but for young people.

This is not to be alarmist, it's a reality.

If I understand correctly = you are one of the fewer and fewer "climatoseptics"

My 10-year-old niece is already aware of the problem.
If you bothered to read what I wrote, I never denied climate change. You who claims to be a scientist should know better that climate change has been happening since the beginning of time. The issue is with Climate Alarmism. The Liberals present it in a way to cause fear and make it appear apocalyptic to push their agenda : adding a carbon tax (nothing but a revenue collecting scheme), forcing everyone to use electric cars, force vegetarianism, and force everyone to eat bugs. They got an agenda. The good thing is more and more people are beginning to wake up to the climate change hoax. They did the same with covid. Next up will be climate lockdowns.

I don't agree with you, I would say the exact opposite.

There are more and more people who realize that it is climate change that causes all the climatic overflows.

Ah yes, covid is just a simple flu?

You will never agree because it is not in the Progressive platform and your bias shows in your obsession against Trump. You will agree with all Progressive policies no matter how destructive they are due to your hatred of the Conservatives (I got no idea why you have all this hatred). Having said that here are the stats on how many people died of air pollution in the US.

However only covid matters to the government. They politically hijacked this issue. The good news is many people are waking up to the covid hoax. Many are not interested in bowing down to the government anymore. Many ppl I talked to are not interested in getting more doses or to be forced to wear face diapers. Trudeau is banning single use plastics but what about all the plastics being wasted and thrown into the environment for needless masks? More contradictions.

Another Greta in the making, the world will be saved.
So now you are quoting 10 year old family members as experts lol.
The weather is changing it always has been and always will.
So far this has been one of the coldest and rainiest Junes I can remember, wtf I will donate an extra thousand to Trudeaus‘s Carbon Tax that should
save all future generations and ease my self loathing conscience.

Yes and some people always see a forest where there is only a tree.
The weather is always changing nobody disputes that.
I even don’t dispute that we are contributing heavily to the destruction of rain forests natural habitat and all the garbage both plastics and many other wastes that are being spewed into the atmosphere by countries like India, China, and Russia.
What I dispute is the disparities by scientists on just how much this actually has any affect at all on the changing of weather and how much it would change anyway and if any of this change can be averted with anything at all.
I don’t trust any of these scientists as they are like politicians flogging their own brand of doom and gloom for what else $$$ to get grants and to make a name for themselves.
I am not as gullible as most and yes I question scientists and their motives , they are neither infallible nor un corruptible and most haven’t got a clue as to how much of this change is inevitable no matter what we do and is happening exactly as nature intended it too. I don’t bow down and hate myself either when someone like Greta spews forward a speech written by her handlers. I will let the usual woke leftists fall all over themselves to do that.

Actually June can be an erratic month in Canada. I actually remember June 2002...2 decades ago. I was working on the road a lot then and I was surprised by how cold and rainy it was...much worse than what we have been experiencing lately. I actually ended up catching a small cold due the damp weather. In fact, it's usually 50/50 whether or not it will rain every St. Jean Baptiste Day. The weather conditions now aren't that surprising.

Aha Fradi...now you're pointing out the elephant in the room that the Climate Cultists don't want to talk about: China and India are the 2 most populous countries and therefore the 2 biggest polluters. Why isn't Greta screaming at them? Why is it only Western countries are getting beaten over the head with this crap when the 2 countries who could have the biggest effect on the environment fly under the radar?
Could there be some other agenda at play?
Hmmm... I wonder...

Simple really.
India, China and Russia and we can add Pakistan to that list as well are not full of self loathing leftists and they basically don’t give a crap and most of all they will not give a penny to these so called scientists and their doom and gloom theories.
It all comes down to $$$ the scientists only knock on the doors that open Fort Knox. and welcome their crap proven or not. Greta will not be welcomed with open arms in these countries either and her trips will not be funded by them.

It's important to distinguish between weather and climate: Weather refers to short term atmospheric conditions while climate is the weather of a specific region averaged over a long period of time. Climate change refers to long-term changes.

So you could have variations of weather on a year to year basis - next year's summer might very well be cool for Europe. But the climate though ... we're trapping more C02 in the atmosphere and the Earth retains more heat (see charts below) as a result. This fuels weather systems and results in more extreme weather.

The largest river in northern Italy is starting to dry up, as the region grapples with the worst drought the country has seen in 70 years. (June 17)

I’m so sorry Italy. I hope the rains come soon.

Severe food shortage is around the corner in many parts of the world!
And most societies are still dithering about climate change.
Drastic changes in our way of life and our economic system are coming, if we want them or not. Nature is not a negotiation partner.
