Way too many people take oxycodone like it is candy. If I am not mistaken Brittany Murphy died of a similar accidental overdose. There was another recent OD like this too, can't think of who.

I have a client who is addicted to oxycodone who is currently MIA - whereabouts unknown. I told my secretary to read the obituaries in the newspaper every day because I think that sadly, that is going to be the next time we will hear any news on him.

It's a powerfully addictive painkiller and apparently Boogard, who played with chronic pain from the various injuries he sustained in fights and in games, had developed a severe addiction to it.

Still does not preclude the fact that there are major short comings with the prescription of various medications. A simple warning on the label to go along with the physicians instructions when making the prescription would contribute to safety.
