Look behind you.
My term is up again, trading in my S-7 for a S-9.
Two years ago the switch from a S-5 to S-7 cost me $9 with trade in. This year Bell is offering $150 plus your trade in value $100 to get the S-9 ( $250 without trade in or special offer ).
Works out to a free phone with a new two year contract. I have seen the S-7 on Kijiji for $300 and I may try and sell it there.
The S-9 comes out on Friday.

I have an iPhone 6+ which I purchased on Black Friday 2014, making it now 3.3 years old. It still works fine with the exception that the touch screen functions occasionally balk a little bit and sometimes I need to do a restart. I had thought they were actually designed to break down after 3 years. I guess my phone is a Guinea Pig to test that theory.

I get a new iPhone every two years because I’m a tech geek that has to have the latest phone at all times.

Completely unessesary, but I do enjoy my iPhone X!

Apple release a battery changing program for very little... this should fix your speed issues with the 6s ... Apple has gotten a lot of slack for intentionally slowing down older phones to keep battery life up.

Swap battery, and done. phone is fast again.

The phone isn’t slow. The only problem I have is that the phone occasionally doesn’t respond to touch screen commands. That’s a different issue than speed. Speed seems fine.

Who knows
I’ve been able to change almost every year. Consequences of seeing fewer SP’s and saving a shit load of money that I can pour into more inconsequential and useless things.

Got my first phone into 2012, rock it til 2016, hope to keep this one for 4 years too. When your done paying the phone (i have a 2 year balance) it will save me 10$ every month so its for the best. Why changing what work?

I only changed my 2012 phone cause at the end the battery was starting to be crap and he was rebooting at time without reasons.

I'm still using my trusted 2008 phone. It's sturdy, the battery lasts a while, and it's already crossed from ''old garbage'' to ''chic antique''.

I just can't stand touch screens.

I change every 2 years and have the latest iPhone. I wish I could get away from the Apple products but as I am used to the iPhone they tell me it takes about 6 months to become accustomed to the others out there. As I use it for business I can't afford the learning curve

Actually its not Free. If you keep your phone, bell should lower the cost of your current plan by 15$/month, as you are now bringing your own phone, so over 2 yrs your free phone really is costing you $360 (plus Taxes).

I did not know this until now, just called Bell and I get a $20 per month reduction if I do not upgrade. Bell is not expensive, I get unlimited phone calls and 16 gigs of data for $94 tax included. That is now after the reduction.
Thanks for the info.

I usually keep my phones for at least 3 years and change them only if it,s not working anymore. I understand people who feel the need to change, bu for me as long as it's doing the job I don't see the point for changing just for the sake of it.

You call that cheap lol. Almost 100$ for phone payment... :O

I pay 40$ and i find this expensive... I don't have unlimited phone calls in week daytime but after 5 pm and on weekends yes, wich is more than enough. I got 200 mins for daytime.

No internet data but then again its the kind of thing i would use once in a while. I can't justify paying lots of money more for just a once a month or less use lol

^^^^^^ I need the data as my kids can use my data also and my daughter uses 8 gigs herself at the dorm. I use my phone for work so I need to talk all day. Bell is the cheapest that I can find for what I need
