Not really I usually get together once a month with the closest family members, they show me websites of who they think would be best suited for me .
It beats playing cards or scrabble , they love this game.
Don't know if that's quite true of the people here - this is a rather unique bunch of perverts. Of course, you're right in general though... most people would not admit to these activities.
However, you don't need to be publicly talking about something you do for it to nevertheless have positive effects on your life.

Out 10 of my closest friends/college buddies, all but 1 of us is still married. The rest were miserable in their respective marriages. When I visit the one who is still married, he is constantly complaining to me about what his wife will permit him to do or what he cannot do. I don't even bother asking him to go golfing as his wife expect him to take care of the kids all weekend, since she is a stay at home mom and she feels that her duties only apply during the week. I just saw a Youtube video about the benefits of being single. The most ironic is that you can expect to have more sex - especially if you are just dating. Another is that you can check out every hot piece of ass who walks by without getting your nuts kicked. Having said that all my friends agree that the only good reason to get married is to have kids - that's where real love resides.
Protagoras his right. Absolutely nothing beats real love. Being able to spend time and have sex with a girlfriend is by far the best there is. But you are right also as for many, including myself, it very often ephemeral.

My wife knows about my past hobbying days. Like all civie chics she got pretty upset, thought I have all the STDs out there and is some all around stereotypical creep that is portrayed in the media when I told her about it. LOL how wrong she was.

I agree with you Bignasty. For many of us (tho not all) the thrill and glow of new love and/or marriage usually fades after a couple of years. It's like Fool's Gold. LOL. Now come to think of it, it was more embarrassing when my family and friends saw the civie girls I was dating. They all love to comment on her good and/or bad. “Oh she is too skinny.” “Oh she is kind of fat.” “She is too pretty.” “She is going out with you?” “Why are you with her?” “What happen to the other girl you were seeing?” This was asked when I was with another girl.
Best was when a friend with my cousins saw me with an SP at a restaurant and they asked the why question. SP replied “ohhh I am using him for the sex.” LOL. Was even more funny what transpired when this reached my parents. LOLOLOL....

There are things in like that you want to keep secret, like your drinking or drug habits. How many women will tell people about their sex toys or if they do anal? We live in a PC world where people shut their mouths and will not give their opinions openly. The hobby satisfies a human need and can be mentally and physically beneficial.
Sam Kinison nailed it. He understood relationships. What was that joke???? He wanted to pick up a woman at a bar, not even bother to learn her name, take her back to her house and fuck the hell out of her and then while she sleeps steal her purse and sneak climb out the bedroom window. He wanted to leave someone else broke, sticky, and confused once in awhile instead of him.

When the laws are like what they are (in USA/Canada), one has to be careful too, in addition to above.
Cross the Atlantic and go to Germany and the society and laws are totally open to this...
In the Frankfurt Red light area (biggest in Europe), the rooms and girls next to main station are average to below average..
But the clients...in the weekday mornings...are mostly ALL executive types from the financial area surrounding the red light area. A red light area like that even in open-Montreal would be hard to imagine.

Hobbying helped me get out of a slump resulting from a badly ended relationship, has increased my confidence/ability in speaking to women, and improved my skill in bed. Would I tell others I have participated in it? No; socially it is unacceptable and a fast way to becoming a pariah.
People pay big to go to baseball camps or to drive race cars for a day. Just consider it a porn star fantasy, you get to do things you do not do often when you see a SP.
