Duplicate handles phenomenon - Your opinion please

Before suggestions may be offered and validated the community would have to agree what data would be used and what the objectives would be.
Example 1733 logged on during the polling period out of app 7600 - 7700 so somewhere between 5800 and 6000 had no interest in MERB during this period otherwise they would have logged on.Are we targeting those that logged on,those that did not,both groups,fresh members?

Come on Eastender! We are targeting those who USE Merb. Why care about whoever is not coming on the board anyway?

By the way, this thread had to do with duplicate handles. Feel free to create a new thread if you have suggestions.

Referring to previous numbers there are app 4000 handles where someone took the time and effort to sign - up but has not posted.Likewise app 2500 who have 1 - 10 posts.From the tone of the above and your other actions today,banning some handles,PM's sent to others, I get the impression that
these two groups totalling app 6500 handles may contain a significant percentage of "sleeper" handles - like the episode with the Yossarian handle where to the best of my understanding the handle was registered long before it was used.

If this is the situation then I understand your priorities and frustrations (appreciate the time consuming efforts verifying all such nonsense).

Perhaps suggestions should be delayed until you(the mods collectively get
a true understanding) and the community could move forward at that time.
