A CEO is taking this to court, I do agree that this measure by Trudeau is outrageous.

If people don't like the measures then they should just stay home . We are trying to contain this plague. People should not be travelling for leisure at this time.. Also they were warned in advance that their coming back to Canada could be in jeopardy. So too sad too bad. If i was the PM i would go even further and disallow ALL non essential travel. These travellers are the reason we have a pandemic so i have no pity.

the media keeps quoting "Australia does this, New Zealand does this"...yeah but the other 210 countries of the world dont. so go live in those 2 countries if they are so frikin great

Some people have ligitimate reasons to travel. I would consider being held in a hotel room a type of jail also. People never consider the unintended consequences of these rules.

From what I read roughly 2% of the infections are from travellers.. Small clip, it is not the international travellers who drive the cases up. Ttudeau is probably trying to divert the attention from his failed vaccines. This measure by Trudeau is useless IMO.

Feb. 1, 2021 — Based on these reported exposures, PHAC estimates that international travel has accounted for between 0.4 per cent in May to 2.7 per cent in July 2020 of total confirmed cases over the past eight months.

So we shouldn't use the countries who have handled it best as examples for what we can perhaps also do better? We should jsut shut up about it? The classic "if you don't like it here, move somewhere else" line of thinking...

who says they have handled it best? I dont feel those countries are comparable to us, they are obviously a particular case being isolated islands down at the bottom of the pacific/indian ocean. So i wish people would stop holding them up as models to aspire to. And yes i expressed a little anger, because i dont like having my freedoms severely curtailed, even in a pandemic.

The guy is a pure asshole ! Idiots like him are the reason this pandemic is prolonged.
Maybe if more people were like him ( correct ) we would not be treated like sheep and obeying every whim the governments puts out to us. Cases and ICU units are on the rise again even with a lockdown and curfew, does this not tell you something. Some US states said fuck it and opened up, did not want the cure worse that the virus. Do not want to hear " To save one life is worth it ", BS.

he got a ticket for what exactely? if it's for not obeying public health directives (not wearing a mask or refusing the test) i dont beleive it will be thrown out of court as he says. Only very few tickets have been thrown out... but mind you maybe getting a $1500 ticket is better than being imprisonned for 3 days and still have to pay $2000...

It rose in the past 2 days by a little, but overall cases are way down than pre-lockdown and curfew. The problem is with stupid people that don't follow directives and then infect others.

Not going to look for a link but a high majority of people who have caught the virus say they are mask wearers and social distance. IMO this virus is going to infect certain people no matter what they do unless they completely hide in their basement, some will never get this even if they lick a covid-19 case in the nose.

A little dramatic is it not, plague! Also, the reason we have the pandemic still is politicians. I have pity for the forever lost business, forever lost jobs and bankruptcies. That is not caused by leisure travelers.

  1. Plague definition, an epidemic disease that causes high mortality
So by definition it is a plague. Although it is true that the politicians do no have all the answers, it is also true that the pandemic started all over the world as a result of travel, which then gave way to community transmission. Equipped with this knowledge anyone who travels for leisure now is part of the problem and not part of the solution.

That's a good point but I don't think we can really conclude anything by people saying they are mask wearers.. One, masks are not 100% protection especially for those who for whatever reason are more exposed, two, many people don't wear the mask consistently and all it takes is one exposure. If these people live with multiple family members they most likely don't wear a mask at home, and all it takes is one person to have been exposed outside of the home and then come back home and infect everyone. I'm pretty sure i've read that most infections occur within the home and in large gatherings.

Not high mortality though.
This is the plague.
Plague can be a very severe disease in people, with a case-fatality ratio of 30% to 60% for the bubonic type, and is always fatal for the pneumonic kind when left untreated. Antibiotic treatment is effective against plague bacteria, so early diagnosis and early treatment can save lives.Oct. 31, 2017
