This guy sounds like a complete moron who made the FBI's job ridiculously easy. It turns out he got a hotel room next to Andrews' (not sure how he was able to do this without inside help and/or bribing hotel staff), registered it under his actual home address, altered her peephole to embed a camera, and then tried to sell the video to TMZ.com. I am not sure it's possible that he could have tried harder to get caught.

I beg to differ. At least half of the peformers are quite well-known. I actually think this is one of the most star-filled seasons. You guys be the judge:

I predict that Nicole Sherzinger will make it to the final. Other finalists will be among Erin Andrews, Evan Lysacek & Jake Pavelka. Why? Nicole Sherzinger already has a background in dance/performing on stage & she's paired with Derek Hough, who's one of the best instructors the show ever had. They'll look great together. Erin Andrews is paired with Maksim Chermekovski, one of the top dance instructors on the show & he's quite popular with the lady voters. Evan Lysacek will get a lot of votes after his gold medal upset in the Olympics. I'm sure ballroom dancing will come naturally to him. He's also paired with the very demanding (and hot!) Anna TreBUNSkaya, one of my favorites. And last but not least, Jake Pavelka, this recent season's Bachelor. He's paired with my favorite female instructor, Chelsea Hightower. They'll look great together & be among the crowd favorites.

Who will win the mirror ball trophy? Not Nicole, since voters will figure she has an advantage over the others, plus the fact she's with Derek, who tends to get on people's nerves after a while with his camera-grabbing antics. Erin could get it, but i have a feeling it will be between Lysacek & Pavelka......the first time two men will go head to head for the final two.

As I understand it, a hotel room is legally equivalent to your own home.

How much privacy do you have from your landlord, bank (mortgage), utility companies, home owner's association, etc.? In other words, isn't some of that public record?

Could the hotel argue that Ms. Andrews is expecting the hotel to afford her more privacy than she would have with her own home?

How would you feel if tomorrow you wake up & someone's posted nude pictures of you (in your own hotel room) all over the internet? Don't you feel that at the very least, the hotel is responsible for privacy matters as such? If the hotel would have had a security camera in the hallway, this likely wouldn't have happened.

That wasn't what I was getting at, and her lawsuit is not going after the hotel for THAT particular action.

What I was wondering is: Information regarding your hotel stay ... how much of it is private? As opposed to someone finding out your home address through legal means?

I was thinking that the big hotel chains would certainly put on a defense. They may argue that just as your home address can ultimately be determined, so can information about you in a hotel. Ex. If she ordered pizza, the pizza guy knows where she is.
