Currently my not-to-miss tv shows are GAME OF THRONES & 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY. I also like CALIFORNICATION, but not as much as the two shows i just mentionned. Those two series are among my favorite tv series of all-time!

p.s. Tonight is GAME OF THRONES' final episode of season 4. It should be a great one!! I can't wait!!!

Naked and Afraid

I was at the gym working on a treadmill tonight and looking at the TV, and I noticed a program on the Discovery Channel called "Naked and Afraid." It was about two attractive people, (dude in his 40s, in great shape, and woman in her early 20s, also in great shape), both buck naked, deposited in the middle of the Costa Rican rain forest with nothing but a crude map and no clothes. They are asked to take a 21 day trek towards their destination at the end of the a river, supplied with no food and some very crude weapons. The way the nudity is handled is the Discovery Channel blurs tits and pubic areas, but the asses of both the man and woman are visible. The woman, to my eyes, was quite a hottie, tall, lean and curvy, with a face and body that reminded me of the ex-Emmanuelle of Eleganza. And her ass was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway the show is basically "Survivor" with nudity. They have to build shelters and forage for food. They end up encountering lots of snakes and monkeys and ants that bite their bare feet. Eventually they catch and cook a turtle, but the woman ends up getting food poisoned by it, and has severe diarrhea and vomiting. Eventually after 21 days they reach their destination on the map, having eaten not a whole lot other than the turtle and having drunk rain water here and there where they find it collected. The man loses 45 pounds and the woman 27 pounds, and the weight loss is somewhat noticeable by the end of the program. But the woman still looks very hot. I don't know how that guy was not walking around with a boner all day long walking with her, although maybe he was because you cannot see his dick. In any event these two are survivalists and sex is not part of the gig- survival is.

Anyway it is an interesting show to watch with subtitles while running on a treadmill at the gym, to say the very least.

Here is a 2 minute excerpt from the show:

Naked and Afraid would be better if they actually showed nudity

The Strain.

FREEEEEAKY!!!!!

What a vampire show supposed to be. None of that pretty boy lovey dovey crap that has been polluting the genre for the past few years.

Gents,

Game of Thrones

I'm just catching up on season 4. I watched episode 8 last night with the trial by combat for Tyrion Lannister. Great trial scene between ex-lovers in episode 7. Not to give anything away for those who are not caught up, but I couldn't believe who got killed off early this season and then what his freaky "parents" did right next to the body in the next episode. Most of the time the writing seems excellent to brilliant, though I sometimes think the series is cheapening itself by relying too much on an all too easy crutch of SHOCK and GORE. The White Walkers are definitely overkill. WHY??? Still, it's all very addictive...which is precisely the point.

BTW: anyone checked out Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) as a brunette. Hard to believe she's closer to 30 than 20 years old. DAMN!

Cheers,

Merlot

The first half of season 4 of 'Game of Thrones' ended about two months ago. When it's playing on tv, it's definitely my favorite tv show, along with the equally excellent 'Mad Men' and 'The Walking Dead'.

Almost every single episode of season 4 is an excellent one & anyone can get killed off anytime. No more waiting for the 2nd-last or last episode of a season when it comes to season 4.

Emilia Clarke is definitely a hottie, and i was very disappointed that she didn't have any nude scenes in season 4. By the way, she was once Seth McFarlane's girlfriend. I've seen her several times get interviewed on the talkshow circuit and she looks so much different in person (and as a brunette) than she does in the show. She smiles & laughs all the time, as opposed to the character she portrays who is always serious and rarely smiles.

My favorite character of the series is Tyrion Lannister, played brilliantly by New Jersey native Peter Dinklage, who constantly fools everyone with his fake british accent. He performs the role brilliantly and it's no surprise he won an Emmy for his portrayal of the likeable Lannister son.

Regarding the rape scene Merlot alluded to. It created a lot of controversy on the boards since it differed from the book. But the shows writers and producers pointed out that the books (written by George Martin) are written from the perspective (POV) of various characters. What may look like a rape to one may not seem like a rape from the other's point-of-view.

I was surprised at Lord Baelish's return in season 4 and what a prominent (and key) character he's suddenly become.

I can't wait for season 4 to resume, likely in the fall!!

Person of Interest Blue Bloods , and Unforgettable

I loved the first season of 'Person of Interest'. But they kind of lost me this past season when they added more characters to the series. I preferred seeing John Reese operating alone than with sidekicks, even if some of these sidekicks just happen to be hot.

Game of Thrones

Hooooo Leeeeeee SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

I have just finished watching episodes 9 and 10 of season 4. The writers and directors sure aren't shy about taking HUGE gambles with losing some of the most critical characters of the entire series. There's a helluva battle at the wall, a bloodthirsty duel over the rights to be guardian of key prize with a cruel ending, then Tyrions momentous double payback. Who'd have thought a scene on a toilet would be Emmy nomination worthy. Doc was right, anyone can get killed off at any time, except Tyrion. I think the fans would rebel if he was bumped off before the last season finale...whenever that may be.

WOW,

Merlot
