Yeah i loved that guy. Great personality, great scorer, great big brother for the young guns.

And i still can't believe how quick Caufield can release his one-timer. Another great example Thursday night in Calgary, what a beauty. As clean as it can get.

I agree. But the bottom line is that they’re still a very bad team & what makes it worse is that there’s no accountability from the coaching staff. It’s still a country club atmosphere under team psychologist St. Louis.

Trading Toffoli was a big mistake. He loved Montreal. He was loved by his fellow players. He was a positive influence around the team. And his coach even referred to him as the unofficial team captain. A leader. I’m okay with most of the trades the team made under the Gorton-Hughes management team but this one…nope!

A real coach would bench players that perform poorly instead of constantly giving them more ice time. And players would get rewarded & be called up when they play well on the farm instead of rewarding bums like Rem Pitlick with an undeserved call up.

The habs will never make the playoffs again if that country club atmosphere around the team doesn’t cease. But a bigger problem is the lack of coaching experience not only at the head coach level but especially when it comes to the assistant coaches. What did need is a kick-ass coach like Ken Hitchcock to improve the work ethic around that team.

Is that really your master plan??? Hiring Toe Blake and playing a defensive style of hockey. For my liking the Habs are playing a great style, they play fast offensive minded hockey but most importantly they stick together and are nasty borderline dirty to play against.
Just to make it clear, this year was never about making the playoffs. It’s more about the growth and improvement of the young core of players there are so many of them, only on Defense you have three rookies doing a fine job as full-time NHL starter.
It would be a huge surprise to see them overachieve and find a way to play hockey in Spring 2023 but if they do make the playoffs, St-Louis might win the Jack-Adams.
And I’m gonna be craving for another upset against we know who.

I am indeed! I’m also a big Habs fan & a big Sens fan! Claude Giroux is my favorite NHL player so how could i not like the Sens?

i remember having this conversation with a hobbyist named Rumpleforeskin many years ago while having lunch. He couldn’t understand how i could i cheer for both the Leafs (or Laffs) and the Habs (or Scabs) and compared it to a Red Sox fan also being a Yankees fan due to their rivalry. I’ve also been a Big Bad Bruins fan for five decades, by the way. Orr, Esposito, Middleton, Jonathan, Pie Mckenzie, Cheevers, O’Reilly, Tim Thomas, Cam Neely, Marchand, Bergeron, Pasta, i have always loved the Bruins!

it’s no different than the majority of the guys here on these boards who are married or have girlfriends who also enjoy fucking hookers. I’m married to the Leafs whom i adore but i also have mistresses named the Habs, the Sens, the Bruins, etc. There is no rule written anywhere that says you absolutely must love only one team. Same as when i was a very active hobbyist. I always had several favorites that i enjoyed seeing on a regular basis but i also enjoyed the company & affections of other beautiful young women who kept me happy!

Same as when the Expos were around. I was a die-hard Expos fan but i also loved the Blue Jays. But i was also a big A’s fan back in the days of Reggie Jackson, Vida Blue, Joe Rudy, Sal Bando & Gene Tennace! I loved the Red Sox in the days of Yaz, Pudge Fisk, El Tiante, Fred Lynn, Dewey Evans & Spaceman Lee! But for me the Expos came first & when the Jays entered the league in 77 they became one of my favorite teams after the Expos! When i’d attend games between the two teams first in the Pearson Cup & later in intra-league play i’d look at the standings & figure out which team i’d be cheering for on that day. If i’d cheer for the Expos and Vernon Wells hit a three-run homer i’d still stand up and cheer! And then when Rondell White or Tim Raines would hit one out of the park at the Big O i’d be overjoyed!

I feel cheering for more than just one team has always made me happier & i’d be in heaven if the Habs were better & be a playoffs team. Same thing with my Sens!

Go Leafs! Go Sens! Go Habs! Go Bruins! Go Jays! Go Bills! Go Raptors and Go Expos! Vive la France!

Last time I checked Luke Richardson’s team sat last place in the standing and Dominic Ducharme was eating hotdogs, we can go back to Randy Cunneyworth if you want to but the reality is that Martin St-Louis is the Head Coach and your opinion about French coaches being not as good is ridiculous.
I remember arguing with somebody telling me that kind of low level stuff about Black Football coaches were not good enough to be HC in the NFL. Needless to say that person was not talking to the right guy since I’m a die hard Steelers fan and I admire Mike Tomlin big time.
That’s my favorite franchise model right there the Pittsburgh Steelers, three Head Coaches since the Super Bowl era(1967).
Like Novocaine, just give it time always works.

I remember! And my favorite player other than Mack Jones was Le Grand Orange, Rusty Staub! I also liked Coco Laboy & John Boccabela! My favorite pitcher was Carl Morton & i remember asking one of my parents to sign “Carl Morton” on my ball glove. But they weren’t very good so i started cheering for the Orioles, then the A’s & finally the Red Sox. My favorite World Series ever is the 75 series, although my team lost. But in 1977 the Expos became better after signing Tony Perez & Dave Cash so i got back on the bandwagon. Les Expos, nos amours!
