Yes, a return is always possible.
And I don't hope that he will be Canada's next PM.

If my memory serves me correctly, it was described as deeply rooted in the ideology of the American Republican Party.

Yes the old Republican party of Lincoln.
I liked Thatcher and Regan as well. They were tough but wise and empathetic . Great world leaders worth admiring.

huh.... WTF ... conservatives are your best enemies regarding escorts and sex work in general!
Need I remind you guys, that the infamous C36 law is born from Harper government and his best idiot in town Peter MacKay!

Just a little reminder:
https://openparliament.ca/bills/41-2/C-36/
This enactment amends the Criminal Code to, among other things,
(a) create an offence that prohibits purchasing sexual services or communicating in any place for that purpose;
(b) create an offence that prohibits receiving a material benefit that derived from the commission of an offence referred to in paragraph (a);
(c) create an offence that prohibits the advertisement of sexual services offered for sale and to authorize the courts to order the seizure of materials containing such advertisements and their removal from the Internet;
(d) modernize the offence that prohibits the procurement of persons for the purpose of prostitution;
(e) create an offence that prohibits communicating — for the purpose of selling sexual services — in a public place, or in any place open to public view, that is or is next to a school ground, playground or daycare centre;
(f) ensure consistency between prostitution offences and the existing human trafficking offences; and
(g) specify that, for the purposes of certain offences, a weapon includes any thing used, designed to be use or intended for use in binding or tying up a person against their will.

The enactment also makes consequential amendments to other Acts.

Jihadi Trudeau is a self-proclaimed feminist. He would have done the same thing. Bill C-36 in its very nature is feminist. The biggest enemy of sex work are feminists.

We remember Mr. Stephen Harper's position on the right of women to abortion and on that of same-sex couples, to marriage.
Also in matters of maternal health. Launched in 2010, his policy had been severely criticized for excluding funding for women who wanted to have an abortion in developing countries, so he decided not to keep the promise to contribute to the contraceptive distribution program. In these developing countries, his policy treated women "like bodies giving birth to babies"
Stephen Harper dismantled a national child care program, which had been ratified by all Canadian provinces.

Yes I agree to have a hard PM, but human and empathetic.
Me too, Justin Trudeau is not my first choice, and he still has a lot to learn.

This will be my last post on this subject. Politics is a subject which gives rise to too many discussions which generally don't lead to any change of position of these interlocutors.

The problem with Harper is was stuck on ideology from the bible. Illegal abortion was always a stance of the Christian Evangelicals. We need a third option a Libertarian.

Harper was strong he can beat Jihadi Trudeau.

Just a reminder, in case you forgot...Trudeau beat Harper.

Harper was not strong, he was 'Lucky'' because Quebec was voting NDP big time those days
splitting the vote. These days Quebec vote going for Liberals and the Bloc, Quebec decides who wins
(By not voting for conservatives), you should know this, right ?.

As far as I know Quebec never voted for the conservatives so they are part of the deciding factor. The main deciding factor is Ontario. They got the most seats and they can either swing conservative or liberal. Right now Trudeau bought the immigrant vote by opening up a revolving door to mass immigration. Currently we got the highest influx of Indians. Look around they are everywhere now. He elected Indian ministers. He went to India. It is a collaboration. Most immigrants will vote liberal. Even now with the covid crisis he is throwing free money everywhere so he can buy more votes.

That might be the case but Trudeau has done nothing to repeal it. The only thing he is concerned with is to bring in more immigrants. Feminists are just as bad as the evangelical Christians. This Bill C-36 law is sexist and feminist to its core. It demonizes men and infantiles the sex workers so in essence the clients are the predators and the sex workers are all victims. Feminists have been wanting to dominate and castrate men for a long time.

I checked the internet, and you're right, Trudeau voted against Bill C-36 in 2014.

I much prefer a feminist prime minister than a prime minister who introduced Bill C-36 and who didn't want to give women the right to decide for themselves whether to have an abortion or not.
In fact Stephen Harper had no respect for women.
With a Prime Minister like him, I think it was difficult not to become feminists.

CLOUD you are too drastic.

Point is neither the conservatives or the liberals are pro-prostitution. Both governments want to get bigger and implement more prohibition. The best option is a Libertarian party. I am for Max Bernier. Having said that Trudeau is the worst prime minister. He opened an open revolving door to mass immigration. Everyone is getting poorer except the top 1% rich because of this. The cities are getting over crowded, rents skyrocketing and so are housing prices because of immigration. See what happened to Toronto, Montreal will suffer the same faith. All thanks to Trudeau. Immigration needs to be seriously reduced.

We are really not on the same page.

We are in a free country. Everyone can read the book of their choice.

Maxime Bernier, a few words about him:
Leader of the People's Party of Canada (PPC), he tells anyone who wants to hear that he is the only "true right-wing party" in the country. A more conservative party, even, than the Conservative Party.
It's therefore not surprising that his words are echoed by groups flirting with the far right the political leader described abortion as infanticide and murder, in the same time, he claims to be like a defender of individual freedoms o_O

I have more information about Maxime Bernier.

I spoke with a friend recently, and I know he didn't like Maxime Bernier at all, he explained to me why:

1) He said he deplored the climate emergency frenzy.
2) He said that human activity has nothing to do with climate change.
3) He is opposed to Greta Thunberg, he says that she is too radical and says that she is manipulated.
4) He is pro choix, he will vote against abortion.
5) He says he wants to import the Trump style into Canada, yes he says he wants to be like him, a populist, but an intelligent populist.

Luckily he wasn't chosen to head the Conservative party, it was Cheer who was chosen

Look behind you.
Pierre Marcel Poilievre is the person who should run for Conservative leader, too bad he does not want the position.
Trudeau beat Harper because of the media, because people believed the " Canada is back " , We will grow the economy from the heart out " , " The budget will balance itself " plus legalizing weed. Trudeau is an idiot whose only answer to an issue it to throw money at it, too dumb to solve or mitigate any problem. His recent UN seat loss shows what other leaders think of him.

Trudeau vs. Harper: The question was would you rather vote for an idiot or a prick. By then people were sick of the prick so the idiot won.

We are very strong at criticizing, so I hope you are going to vote?

So who would you vote for?

Whoever leads the Conservative party, at least long enough until there is an option for new leaders on either side. For now, the Liberal ranks need to be culled. I remind you of Trudeau's wise decisions:

He has pledged almost $600 million to education funds around the world while students here are having difficulty affording university. $2.5B to climate change at the CLS and now he's trying to get the provinces to pay for it. $125M to Caribbean Reconstruction and $650M to Sexual and Reproductive health in Haiti and elsewhere while many people in Canada have difficulty getting family doctors. Almost a $1B to Syria for Humanitarian help and $4.5B on a pipeline the courts shut down, but now back on with a $250M delay cost.

Also, let's remember he replaced Canada's old F-18's with Australia's old F-18's. He constantly forgets Alberta is a province and a part of Canada. He got India to invest $250M into Canada only after he invested $750M into India (but his whole family dressed really nice while there). Remember the millions given to Loblaws for new refrigerators, a company that makes billions, and making available half a billion to subsidize mainstream media (wonder how they will determine which outlets get that money).

The best is, I think in reference to Bill C-69, when he said a proposed pipeline must consider the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors. What on earth does that even mean?
