I heard on the news that Marois has announced a new building on St. Laurent and St. Catherine. Has the fat repulsive disingenuous hypocrite finally killed the Cleopatra?

Even if Cleo is not touched, do you think it will be long before they put up a new building where Cleo stands?

No need to insult Mme Marois! But that does not go as far as voting for her! She is putting Quebec in dire straight with the new law that Drainville has concocted, with her spending foolishly the money of our taxes (Marceau's budget), with an environmental policy that stops all development projects (Ouellette's ways of handling things). So, let's unite to get Marois out of office as soon as possible. The sooner the better, because she's causing a lot of damage out of sheer incompetence...

She is taking the ship on a collision course so that the people that take it over will have a hard time to fix the problems she created. Mean while she is whipping up the separatist/racist by telling them that the province is infested with " Les Autre " and they must me made to be not welcome and leave the province.

No need to insult Marois? I'd call her a racist, two faced bitch but that would be insulting to female dogs everywhere. So lets replace bitch with cow, no, that's an innocent animal also. Even weasel would be too inoffensive compared to her. Oh well, I'll have to give it a bit of thought I guess. LOL

No worries about her tearing down Cleo's though. After all...she may end up working there one day. :D

Wow!! I guess it's safe to say that you didn't vote for her & likely will never vote for the PQ as long as she's there! :D

Is this a thread about Pauline Marois? You can insult Jean Charest as well, all this started when he was a Premier. Some members here just jump on the first occasion to criticize the current gvt, sigh.

Was Charest a bigot and a racist? Did Charest try to institutionalize racism in Quebec? NO. ALL the problems in Quebec can be directly related to one separatist government or another who refuse to try and actually govern this province and are much more interested in trying to build walls and promote hatred. Marois is nothing more than a cockroach. Today it came out that 15 years ago she wrote a paper defending the freedom of religious symbols in public institutions and today she is trying to pass a charter against such symbols and freedoms. She is a two faced, hypocritical, whining, snivelling pig.

I don't understand what is happening in Montreal, and honestly it bothers me. I was in Montreal last week and I saw a wrecking ball at the Hotel de la Montagne and saw the north side of the hotel getting demolished. I don't understand why some of the historical landmarks in Montreal aren't being preserved. To me, the HDLM, moreso than Cleopatra's, was a historical landmark. While I did not like it as a hotel from the standpoint of staying there as a guest, the building nevertheless had unique and historical qualities which made it worthy of preservation. But it seems like if a property cannot be squeezed for money, it does not get preserved. In other cities I have been to there are designated historical districts and buildings cannot be touched by developers. I don't have any sense that these historical preservation societies have any political power in Montreal. As a result, the interior of the city has become a bastard's den of development of property, apparently designed to enrich a few people at the expense of the city at large and its tourists. And you guys, the locals, who could possibly be stopping these trends, don't seem to really care.
