Have you ever used/sent a Deposit for/to a SP?

I've always left a deposit when meeting a indy sp for the first time and only had an issue once (I canceled 3+ days in advance and she didn't want to refund me). As long as the deposit isn't big, I see no issue. You just need to do your research.
