Holy secret identity!!

As is fairly obvious, the ladies use a pseudonym when working in the sex trade, and some of their names are quite common in the "real world" (Sarah, Amelie, Marie, Samantha...), while some are quite exotic or unusual (Maylee, Gia, Porsha, Roxy).

I think there could be some interesting stories to share about the adopting of these new names. There must be some instances of the newbie sp forgetting to acknowledge a client when being called by this new name, mentioning her former name from another agency by accident, the reasons behind the choosing of a specific name, etc...

i'll share that as much as I like my name as written down, I've felt pretty weird in the few instances I've met other MERB members in person and had to say the name out loud instead of my real name ( i guess I'm not ready yet for the secret agent lifestyle )

Katryna

The first time I met Katryna of DC was ironically the week after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. I got the impression she really did not enjoy having that name at that time.

I once assisted another SP in choosing a new work name. She had worked in the business under a different name at an agency that went out of business, then worked as an indy very briefly, then went to work at another agency. The agency presented her with a choice of two names. I had gotten to know her when she worked as an Indy and we developed an email relationship. She sent me an email and asked me which of the two names she should pick. I got the impression that one of the names was based on a perceived resemblance to a certain celebrity who had the same first name. I did not perceive the resemblance, but I assumed the agency did. I liked the name, and told her to go with it as it may be good for business if she was associated with that celebrity. She did end up choosing that name. Unfortunately, she is no longer in the business and I lost touch with her a long time ago.

I wish I had given more thought to mine as well. When I signed on to the board I never imagined that I'd stick around this long. Oh well, too late to change now

I chose my name from a list of unisex names and nick-names. Some of the others I considered:

I wanted a name a client could write down and when asked whose # this is he an say it is some guy he knows
