Will you pay my air fare too?

If so, I'll think of an excuse to tell my wife, and we'll be all set! :D

P.S. It's good to see you're back on your feet, both figuratively and literally.

Hi EGB,

The Sofitel is among my favorite hotels in Montreal. The rooms are sometimes very small but very nice. Great bedding, nice bathrooms and if you get a deluxe room there's more than an enough space. They park your car under the hotel in a garage and as for the bar or terrace I know there is a restaurant I believe with a bar inside but I haven't gone in to experience it.

It is a very nice hotel, but somewhat small. The rooms are usually small, but very nice-looking. Great and comfortable beds! The window looking out goes from ceiling to floor. During the winter, several people have complained that it was too cold and management actually admitted that there wasn't much they could do.

The bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous, if small. The restaurant kind of sucks, however. Too fancy and overpriced, in my honest opinion. Most people i know would order out when they'd get hungry for.....food! :)

Many high-end companions won`t go to some hotels, so using Priceline for them is a problem.

I`ve only heard of this about a few FKS ladies. If i were you, i`d say ``it`s their loss, not yours``. If a provider will refuse to see you just because she doesn`t like the place you`re staying at, well...maybe you`re better off seeing someone else who has a better attitude.

Sometimes you can get a better deal than Expedia by going directly to the hotel`s own Web site.

I`ve never once seen a good deal at Expedia. I`ve seen great deals on Priceline, Hotwire, and a few other sites such as Cheaptickets, HRN and Travelweb.

I Reserved a room at the delta for Aug 23- 27. I paid $85.00 per night on hotwire. Priceline would not accept my bid for the Hyatt for 49.00. Did not want to take a chance! I probably paid too much oh well! IT’S been a while I got to excited!

Does anyone have any current opinions about the delta?

I just made 2 separate bookings for August at the Hyatt for $42 and $43.

I'll be wondering if every person walking by is monger/merbite!

Do they have high speed internet access available?

We had a great time at the Sofitel. We booked through Expedia, as that was cheaper than anywhere else. It still wasn't $50, but for us it didn't need to be. We sprang for a "deluxe" room, which was plenty big enough for the two of us and our friend. The bathroom was both larger and nicer than our at home (yep, it's definitely time to remodel). They gave us a room on the 16th floor with a nice view of the city. The bed was superb, and the little chair-y bits (which could be fit together to form a chaise longue or pulled apart to make a chair and ottoman) were quite useful for our activities. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided great light. With our altitude it was nice to leave the curtains open for better visibility during our afternoon activities.

The location was convenient for the Peel metro stop, Cavalli and other clubs, some nice restaurants (Europea, e.g.) and, of course, shopping!. The lobby is quite small, but I can't imagine one's friends would have any trouble coming and going as desired. Our friend claimed it was one of her favorite hotels to visit.

All in all we liked it enough to plan to go back.

EGB, we limited our athletics to within the room so never ended up seeing the workout facilities.

Dee,
It would be nice to the net available for free, but I dont recall having that be case at any hotel, except the Wyndham (if you are rewards program member)

The Hilton Bonaventure has good rooms, many with nice view. It could use a little remodeling, but I think that it's fine (not the best) as a 4-star.
I had 2 nice stays there last year.

Depends which hotel you got. Some of the FKS girls are picky about hotels. Ask first, or you risk getting disappointed.

Thanks for the tip but I still possess enough self-respect to tell any SP that would give me that kind of attitude to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

PS. It’s the Hyatt Regency BTW.

Glad you found this info useful G1. I very rarely book a hotel room without using this website and priceline. What time of the month are you planning on being in town. Beginning, middle or end?

Take care,

SK

Hi SK,

I'll be back in MTL in the middle of September. From what I see on biddingfortravel.com there seems to always be good deals to be had at the Hyatt.

BTW for other Canadians who might try priceline.com my bid using a VISA card couldn't be authorised but when I used a Mastercard it went through fine as per the FAQ on Biddingfortravel.com

Thanks again SK.
