What I think is that you are not well informed. 65% of the generic medication in your medicine cabinet contain ingredients made in India.

As far as Astra Zeneca vax is concerned.....I feel its not as effective as the other 3 approved in the States. Trudeau is proudly making deals that put our people at greater risk

LOL i am not comfortable to put a vaccine made in emergency in my body period. That said i am not part of the "at risk" peoples so i can understood some older gents from here may want to take it, but i am not getting the vaccine period, no matter wich one.

While the Astra Zeneca ( rated at 72% efficacy in the US ) is not as efficient as the Pfizer or Moderna it is still much better than even your annual flu vaccines, and apparently it is 100% efficient at preventing death and hospitalization just like the other two, so I would get it in a heart beat if it was available.

I honestly don’t get people who are not interested in getting the vaccine, there is almost nothing to worry about as far as side affects and even younger people have gotten seriously ill from covid and some have died and if you have any serious pre existing conditions or are overweight then it is even more important to get the vaccine which ever of the 3 approved ones are available.
I have just booked an appointment and it looks like it will be the Pfizer vaccine but I would take any of the three approved ones gladly.

Why is Astra Zeneca making a vaccine in India as opposed to the developed world. I don't want to suffer low standards of India, where contaminated vaccines may arrive, just for the political fortunes of mr. Trudeau.
I am ok with the vaccine being made in CANADA, UK, western Europe, Australia, or some very modern country concerned with STANDARDS. I want a vaccine made in the developped world with high standards , with 90% effectiveness.
None of this Indian nonsense, sorry. Look what happened when they hosted the Commonwealth games, complete disaster. On top of that they throw antibiotic waste into their rivers making super bugs the norm.

I won't be politically correct, I don't trust India and their standards.

If you are wondering why I am worried >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Serum Institute of India is the largest vaccine manufacturer in the world. If you had even an inkling of an idea about the quality and regulatory standards that govern the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, and the level of oversight that the patenting companies exercise over the manufacturers, you wouldn't be comparing vaccine manufacturing with hosting a sports tournament.

All my family took the AstraZeneca vaccine and they're doing great. It's efficiency is way above the 60% considered baseline for vaccines. I am not the bravest guy in the world, but I will happily take whichever vaccine is made available to me.

Classless and disrespectful comment (Rules #2 and #21)
[...]

Point is that India has a reputation for mishandling everything from sports games to medication . Point being they dump all antbiotic waste in the river causing super bugs. Where are the regulatory standards there. No matter what line is fed to me about India "taking very seriously" anything is a lie.

BTW where are India's Pharmaceutical standards here??????

I am mad I don't want to take a vaccine made in India END OF STORY. PS were did your family get their astra zeneca vaccine India ?

65% ? Nope, not for me ! not made in India, not made in China, nor anywhere else! effective 65% is not enough for me! that's it, that's all !

Ocean, I'm not sure if you're taking any pills but if you do there a very high chance that at least part of that pill come from India and/or China and you're already taking medicine from India

I have a few relatives who have just received a jab of the Sputnik and they were happy as pigs in shit to get it.
India is a world leader in vaccines I don’t see a problem getting it, 65-72% efficacy and apparently 100% for not being hospitalized or dying seems like a good deal to me.

There are many in the world that would gladly role up their sleeve for any of the vaccines.

I see a big problem with 65% efficacy when there are 3 candidates that are in the 90% range. My body's health and safety is sacrosanct .... to put it at risk just to not insult the feelings of Indians /Indo-Canadians.
It's not prejudiced to say that India makes dangerous sub par medication when its true ! [...] here are news article that show what I say to be true. I am so mad at our government that they
would put our father's and mother's lives at risk with low effectiveness Indian vaccines. BTW are the vaccines made using Indian tap water? How is the water sterilized if at all?

Okay so don’t get the Astra Zeneca obviously health professionals disagree with you as they have approved it.
There is not much point to this rant of yours that anything made in India according to you is garbage, and I am sure nobody is going to convince you otherwise.
You asked for other people’s opinions they gave it

They will be adding a booster to astra Zeneca. It will cover variants and will be tweaked by fall when majority of Canadians will have access to mass vaccinations.

As others said shit made in India is sent all over world, manufactures like Dr. readdys lab and cipla are world famous and used in North America. Manufacturing the vaccine there should not be an issue
