If you want to help, you can invite them in your home. Help is when it is done voluntarily, not by force like taxing people then giving them social benefits for political and personal gain. Canada used to be a nation built on immigration but not anymore, the immigrants are being used as commodity for politicians and corporations to make more money. Look around you, wealth is getting concentrated to the politicians and corporations while the rest is getting power. The middle class is now the new hidden poor because most of their income is being tied to housing. Canada's living standards will never get better till productivity is addressed, Canada is suffering a productivity crisis and you cannot build wealth by piling millions of people from the third world and give them so much social benefits. The results speak for themselves.
No we do not need 100 million people that is ridiculous, this is for politicians who want power. It is weird how you can be more concerned about what goes around in the world instead of what is happening in your own country. We should not have one more refugee or temporary foreign worker till every Canadian is employed. We should not have more more people till housing supply is more them demand. But politicians and the rich do not want that, they want real estate values to keep going up because it benefits them. I will always be for the average joe working a job. It makes no sense to have never ending population growth as if resources are infinite because they are not. The goal is to make money, the way to go that is to create a need where there is none. Another goal is to create scarcity. One way is to reduce supply and the other way is to increase demand. Politicians and the rich want more demand because they can jack up their prices is what we have been seeing since covid. Many are struggling to pay their bills, living paycheck to paycheck
Finally, your last statement makes no sense. The Liberals are piling more people then there is housing being built. In fact all the red take is causing housing construction to slow down. You need to shut down immigration. Lets put it this way, if you got a hole in your fuel tank, your solution is to put more gas to keep the tank full. But that does not resolve the problem, you need to fix the hole. Same principal. You need to shut down immigration and construct lots of new houses and apartments. And, how much natural habitat are we supposed to destroy to have more humans??? We are displacing animals from their natural habitat and destroying forests just to have more humans and for what? For the rich to make more money? There are 8.5 billion humans on this planet and that is scary. All governments should be working to slow down population growth.

1 . I can't take in immigrants to my home, but am willing to spend my tax dollars to welcome them to Canada. That is a philisophical difference between you and me. It is not for so political and personal gain for me, i just beleive in it. And I beleive it is best for my country, Canada, in the long term.
2. Yes, I aggree with you, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening, but it is not because of immigration. It is because special interests and lobby groups, who have a lot of money and influence, well they do their job and influence the government in ways that are not always in the best intersts of the common canadian. The best way to counter that is either: vote for someone else, or, get involved with some kind of lobby group, or, better yet, run for office yourself.
3. Canadian productivity has always been on the low side, especially when compared to our southern neighbors, but we have generally more vacation, paid leave, maternity leave etc...ill take our system.
4. We have been taking in 0.5 Million immigrants a year (excluding temp workers) all thoughout the Trudeau era. Yes some if not most get social benefits until their claims are processed by our lagging court system, but trust me, they dont want social security, they want to work, and they will take all the menial jobs we dont want. So please do not portray them as societal blood sucing leaches, because they are the opposite. They just want to make a living and feed their families.
