Well maybe some former SPs who had a rough time financially during the crisis will come back... who knows. But Trudeau's PCU should help them not needing that.

There are still escorts working but i'm guessing it's mostly incall where it's much harder to notice. However i'm sure outcalls are still happening. I wonder how hotels react when an escort shows up at the hotel to meet one of their guests? Is it business-as-usual & they ignore it? Or is there more screening going on at some of the hotels & the escort may be asked to turn around & leave? Are guests required to state who will be in their room when they check-in? I had this happen to me a few months ago when i was in Toronto. Supposedly more & more hotels (in Toronto) were now doing it....and that was BEFORE the coronavirus started to spread to Canada.
I wonder if this message board will return to how it once used to be in the early to late 2000s, with honest reviews (explicitely positive and negative reviews) and the boys pretty much to themselves without any "measured" reviews to avoid any lashback or to be politically correct. I remember a couple of yrs back having mentioned (in a review) that i found a particular sp to be too chubby for my taste ; and not only did the boys hang me out to dry (because the sp was an active poster and they were trying to showout to her and be "captain-save-a-hoes"), but she also harassed me via PM. I miss the good ole MERB days before it became huge.
This is an awesome post. This is why I would like to see a name change to the Montreal Escort Advertising Board or MEAB. I was just pretty much forced into early retirement due to Covi19 and I come on here and hear about escorts that make more in a year than many people do in 10 years and they shame people in to paying for Only Fans.
Dude, have you seen what some (not all) sp do on Twitter? They literally screenshot posts from here and call guys out. Sometimes the douchebag does deserve it, but other times not so much. Either way, very unprofessional. To me it's a turn off and somehow messes up my fantasy of being with an SP. Keep in mind that i'm a natural DOM character.
Don't get me started on all the Twitter shit-talking that i've noticed that they (again, not all of them) also do with respect to merbites. They have literally flipped the game. It's our fault though. I saw this culture change coming back in 2014/2015.
Just before Covid, I was interested in a few SP, that is until I unfortunately came across their Twitter accounts and, sadly, witnessed their regular whining and complaining about some of their clientele or potential clientele (again, very unprofessional and not a good business model). You know, the type of clientele who don't come bearing gifts and who don't leave tips.
I guess all they want are the rich and wealthy dudes, which of course they have every right to do, as it is each person's prerogative.
But i guess blue collar clients (that can perhaps only afford 4 to 6 sp a year with no tips) are lost these days with the quick rise in agency prices which has now hit the 230/240/250 range, when not many years ago, "200" was considered a bit up there.
The last 2 agency sp that i saw both left me WILDLY disappointed (and both well known agencies that did NOTHING about it). Of course, i will not call out the agency nor the SPs, because it will hurt me on this politically-correct site.
As the years go by, service is generally going down (except for a couple of stars) and price is going up and will keep going up until we hit The 300/350 mark.
It is indeed forcing some to retire early.
Even the incall scene is suffering and is not what it used to be.

I'm actually gonna focus my energy on landing 1 regular lady from possibly the Seeking website, cuz i'm tired of asking for agencies to send me SPs donning hosiery, a skirt and some makeup. It's still such a difficult task for them after all these years. A very popular SP (here on Merb) even wanted to upsell me +$100 for getting dressed up (stockings, makeup, sexy dress). Yea man. Eleganza! What an agency that was. Those days (which were not that long ago) were awesome. Price ranges were just perfect. 160-180. Alot of the SPs were straight up service animals (cim, cof, dt on the house). I think social media is to also blame for the shift somehow.

I just think that Nylon Lover and a few others made a few good points. I think some of the ladies have tried to use their influence to make sure that reviews are nothing more than shills without details or judgement and I'm not talking about just MERB. It has to do more with the Fuck TER/Twitter crowd. The problem is, I think they have convinced hobbyists (of course we are now slobbyists) to state publicly in forums like this that it is bad form, rude, and tasteless to use an acronym about services. If you didn't have a good time you had not better say so or you are going to get killed on these boards and they go off and bash you on Twitter and who knows what blacklist you are added to?

I know I returned back to the FKK scene in 2017 after a 5-year hiatus and I went back to my favorite place (Oase) and I was severely disappointed. It was a matter of level setting and managing my expectations. Things had changed a bit and I needed change my expectations. I did so and I found a few other places and managed to have as much fun and satisfaction as I had in the past. Nothing stays exactly the same.

So back to the original question - i am confused as to why the Covid 19 quarantine would bring back the street scene? What is the cause and effect? The internet has virtually eliminated the street scene everywhere in North America. Girls being desperate for money because of the quarantine wouldnt drive them to the most dangerous and least efficient method of getting paying clients. It is possible that it might drive them to work more shifts at an agency or advertise more on various platforms to get more business, but going to the street wouldnt help.
It all depends on how the economy goes. Before the street scene comes back the escort and massage places will fill up first. The last few years I have noticed that the massage places only have 2-3 ladies where as back 10-12 years ago they would have 5-6 on duty.
The economy is in for tough times so more part-timers r likely.
But streetwalkers r unlikely for reasons already mentioned by luvdozer. Besides the whole streetwalking scene is bad for the affected neighborhoods and make the city & police look incompetent.
I see more people in the scene...but not streetwalkers. I see more escorts strippers and the like. The economic downturn will be severe.
Yup, will bring the soccer or hockey moms out who are tired of being cooped up with hubby and the kids and she wants a good shagging and some spending money cuz maybe hubby has lost his job or she her regular one ... may have a huge influx of new horny debutants to the industry that cum and go ... literally ...
