Controversial topic, but I once again feel compelled to interject in a discussion to add a dose of realism. Try to imagine how their work, and what leads them to their work, might impair their capabilities to be "ideal partners in a long term relationship". To reformulate your question, if they find a mate, odds are he/she will not be "suitable".
And some of them hide their work from their partner, which is a flagrant lack of empathy!
