Is the Montreal hobby scene just a mirage, or worse yet, a scam?

After all the research I made my arrangements for the weekend. The good news is that I got Hyatt right on St. Catherine from Priceline for $58 which is a great price for a hotel like Hyatt. It is a very nice hotel in a great location. Then everything else is bad news. Found my way to Cleo only two blocks away. People may get great mileage in the booths, but most of the girls there have high mileage themselves. The one or two who looked semi-decent seemed more interested in talking to some young dudes than go to the booths. Called up Eleganza and both Karyna and Kellie were booked. Called up Montrelxxxtase and Victoria was not available and there was only one girl left and I wondered why she was available when everyone else was booked. Megane of Devilish was announced here on this board to be on the schedule, so I called up and was told she was not working. I remember more than one thread and one poster saying that these three are supposed to be the best and most reliable agencies in town... sigh..... It was not a total loss. I did get to see Lily and when I have some time I will write a review and post it.

I agree with you. Cleo is a dump & indeed many of the girls working there have been around the odometer several times. Don't bother looking forward to book Karyna. She's always fully booked & most of the times it's in advance. The last few times i was in town, not many girls were on the Eleganza roster listed as working, so it's normal that they get booked quickly. As for Devilish, it is entirely possible that a guy showing as working may decide to cancel after she's been listed as working on that particular night. As for Xxxtase, it depends on which night or day that you call. Some days lots of girls are working, others not. I'm glad you got to see Lily...she's a keeper whom i've seen several times. In Mtl, some nights are quieter than others. Most of the time, it'll be Sunday & Monday. Which is why i always leave Mtl on either Sunday or Monday since quite often, its not worth staying the extra day if almost no one's working & many agencies are closed on Sundays & sometimes Mondays.

Its too bad that you got shut out when you called "the best and most reliable agencies in town". The only thing I can say is if you arrive in Montreal with only 3 girls on your to-do list, then you'll be spending lots of time alone or in strip clubs.

The are many good agencies that can be found on MERB, and some that actually prefer advance-booking. I usually start the to-do list about 2 weeks prior to a trip, and end up listing about 40 ladies! These are plans A, B & C and include maybe 10 agencies and Indys. Before I arrive in Montreal, I have at least 2-3 pre-arranged appointments that only need my room info when I check-in.

Have I been shut out before, of course. Most of the time its because I waited until too late to start my calls, or due to a cancellation I'm left high & dry in panic mode looking for a replacement

Most of the things I learned to make my trips more successful came through trial & error. I didn't have the resources of MERB, etc. that the newbies have today. "Stuff" happens, but with the proper planning every trip should be a success.

BTW Yes, Cleo's is a dump, but its convenience to the InterCon Hotel also makes it a decent place for a drink.

Getting $58 is a terrific price for the Hyatt in June. I paid $62 in April.

As for the best agencies, their being so busy goes hand in hand with their success I'm afraid. I have also failed with Karyna during multiple trips, so don't feel singled out or unlucky per se. A lot of the best ladies are taken early or pre-booked. But, there are always a few great ladies around if you are patient and don't give up. Yeah, I know it sucks not to get your preference. After hobbying for some years now it's been clear for along time that the best laid plans made ahead of time often fail. I failed with all of my favorites last time. But I made two great discoveries too with Michelle of Montreal Sex City and Maria Divina ( Independent, sorry she's retired ). My best suggestions are:

Call for someone you can pre-book the weekend before you leave at least.

Find a reliable favorite and establish good rapport with her agency or her if she is independent.

Having a good friend in Montreal who can advise you where to call and who to see is a great help.

Be flexible if you are booking the same day and have a well prepared list to choose from with as many options as possible.

Don't call late if you are a visitor. Those living in Montreal can take their chances and try again the next night. Visitors have few chances so calling early or the day before is critical.

I agree 100% i can't remember the last bad trip i had. They have all either been very good or great and they keep getting better. It is just a matter of having your homework done and being prepared. I to always have 2 or 3 evenings where i am seeing indies, girls i am a regular with and all they need is my room no. and like you i always keep a few nights open to meet new ones. There is nothing like meeting a new lady and waiting to hear that knock on the door. I will never get tired of that feeling of anticipation not quite knowing what the new lady will be like

Cleos daytime is a good spot to get drunk because of the 2 for 1 deals and affordable drink prices. The day girls leave a lot to be desired. The night girls are better.. at least half are 7's.

When I take my friends to Montreal I make sure to show them both Cleos and either Chez Paree or Wandas, for the contrast/experience. I stopped going to Super Sexe when they raised dance prices to $15. If I'm paying $15 I'd rather go to a better mileage place like Kamasutra which has a lot of hot girls as well.

I'm sure you had a great time with Lily though she's a great girl. For future reference, if your agency TDL has under 20 names on it, its far too short.

On my last trip I saw 3 Eleganza girls all on same day bookings, and one was booked after 8pm, so sometimes lightning will strike and you'll get lucky, but thats the exception and not the rule. Don't be too upset if you don't get to see your first choice, theres loads of quality SPs in Montreal.
