thats what I was worried about .... she must feel like shit.
but really, she has been around the Clintons for around 15 years,
she must have been stupid in love to marry him.
this guy really is not that smart.

I know what Michael Corleone's wife Kay would do but now that the NY Times has announced to the world that she's pregnant, abortion is out of the question.

This story is not going away unless something big happens.
he is hoping and praying for a tragic celebrity death or a terrorist attack to get this off the media radar.

I would put a suicide watch on him.

I don't think he is evening thinking about suicide. He's got to much ego to consider something like that.

I predict that he'll start a hot dog chain to seriously challenge Nathan's. He'll call it the Real Weiner's Weiners. He'll pay all of his worker's healthcare for them and their extended families. He'll pay them 10 times mimimum wage. Welcome Anthony Weiner to the private sector. He'll offer his customers spicy mustard or ketchup or you can have the Naked Weiner.

Great punch line, DD.

I think Mr. Anthony Weiner, a closeted exhibitionist until recently, will do an exclusive spread for Play Girl for a couple of million dollars, and then start his own porn production company and star in his own XXX movies. First franchise "The Life of a Real Weiner"; second franchise: "Weiner Sausage Exposed". Jeremy Iron will make cameo appearances.

Democrat Harlem congressman Charlie Rangel did alot worse ethics wise
and he got reelected in a 90% to 10% landslide.

if Weiner survives this, it will be with a low profile.
NYC might reelect him but nationally the democrats will want him to stay off TV.

Weiner won't survive this. His district is too smart for him to survive this. He only won his initial term 13 years ago because the district lines were drawn such that it favored a Jewish candidate, because a large majority of his constituents are Jewish.

He's a hack. He's arrogant, like >>>EDITED BY MOD 11: What was that doing there? You have proof of this? <<<. Put this in his background and he will lose. A large percentage of those Jews are religious since his district covers Flatbush and Boro Park and a Jewish part of Queens also. They will vote for anybody but Weiner. In fact Weiner in 2010 only won by 12 percent over the Republican candidate in a heavy Democratic Congressional District. And besides, because of this scandal, Weiner's district may be combined with another district and he will lose his seat that way. Either way, Weiner is cooked.

Hello all,

People that have extreme hardcore ideologue views don't have the capability to look at this episode rationally, both Conservatives and Liberals or whatever. Their opinions are interesting, but their predisposition to judge based on the party (or label) of the subject or some alleged high morality rather than the event means there is no objectivity.

Both Democrats and Republicans in Weiner's district want him to stay.

The poll found that a whopping 63 percent of Democrats said Weiner should not resign, while 47 percent of Republicans agreed with them.

If this poll is accurate showing that even 47% of Republicans agree with Democrats that Weiner should not quit at a time when the supposed shock of the episode should be the greatest, then it is highly unlikely that this event will unseat Weiner once the mood has calmed in the time up to the next election. Unless something more shocking and immoral like genital exposure or a connection to an underage female emerges it seems Weiner's constituents don't want him to resign.

In my case I thought this episode would have a more negative effect, and I am disappointed that the state of morality regarding extramarital experimentation doesn't seem to be the kind of factor that causes greater concern within the general public. I'm not saying he should be out or should stay, I just thought this episode would have a more negative impact. But it seems extramarital exploring is no longer the political poison to a career it once was, and as both an aware person of this time and as a hobbyist I am definitely not surprised.

The problem for you Daydreamer is you are trying to impose and apply either your more conservative morals or your Conservative politics in an atmosphere and among a constituency where they are both NOT the current view, and wishing your views were the same as these voters won't make it so. That's the reality.

Cheers,

Merlot

The truth is that nothing Weiner has been accused of constitutes criminal conduct. And technically, he did not even cheat on his wife like Spitzer did. There is no evidence he actually met Ginger Lee or any of the women with whom he had Internet "relationships", let alone fuck them. He masturbated to the Facebook pics of one of them, allegedly. If masturbation while fantasizing about a women constituted adultery then every married man is an adulterer.

What Weiner is guilty of is lying about his behavior and, possibly, misusing Congressional phones and/or computers, pending the Ethics probe determination. So far, his constituents seem to give him a pass based on his apology.

His candidacy for New York City Mayor in 2013 is another matter. Alec Baldwin throwing his hat into the ring as a candidate has been directly linked to Weiner being perceived as falling from leading candidate for Mayor to non-contender. Baldwin apparently believes that those backing Weiner will switch over to him once the smoke clears on this. Baldwin first has to move into New York City and become a resident, which should not be a problem for him to do.

And you allow this NON-SENSE. WHAT THE HELL AM I IMPOSING? I AM GIVING OPINION. And who are you to call my views Extreme? Huh?

About the poll, Merlot, since you don't know about it. It was done on a Jewish holiday when religious Jews in that area would not have participated. The poll could not be very representative of Weiner's district since a large number of his constituents are religious Jews and they would have not participated in that poll. The poll is skewed and not accurate. The religious Jews in Weiner's district will not vote for him next time around. I guarantee you that. But what the hell would you know about Brooklyn and Queens anyhow, Merlot?

Hmmm,

I know that according to the percentage of voters who elected Weiner by "12%", and according the reports that 56% support him, 33% want him out, and 12% are unsure, the situation is you are out of touch with the people of Queens and Brooklyn.

In my 20s and most of my 30s my best friend was a conservative Jewish person, and I knew many others of that faith. My friend observed all the holidays to the letter of all the prescribed observances. So I know about Shavuot. Still, just because any Jewish person may be dedicated to the strict observances of their faith it doesn't mean any of them are necessarily as politically narrow as you.

Your presumption that Jewish people will not vote for Weiner again is wishful thinking. You are assuming all or most Jewish voters in Weiner's district think like you. Most likely not, as in the past. For example, despite the endless smear campaign attempt to paint President Obama as as a Muslim, Fascist, and terrorist sympathizer Obama still won 77% of the Jewish vote...that's 77% who didn't think like you.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/barack-obama-wins-77-percent-of-jewish-vote-exit-polls-show-1.256651

"American Jews resoundingly rejected the two-year, multi-million dollar campaign of baseless smears and fear waged against him by the right wing of our community," he said. "Surrogates and right-wing political operatives in our community stopped at nothing in their efforts to sway Jewish voters against Obama."

So don't presume you speak for anyone. Point made, point closed!!!

BTW...connecting a mod with Stalinism is not a good idea. You may want to apologize.

Cheers,

Merlot

Hey Mod 11, if you allow this, then I have no faith in your Mod skills.

And Merlot, you quote someone, but who is this person - he?

Day, Merlot is talking about >correction< the article he quoted. I read a bit too fast. Easy to understand when you accept to read what people post for what they are posting, not in the light of what you want to read.

Anyway, I'm tired of playing babysitter. This thread is again going political. If you guys can't keep it to the simple fact of a guy (A GUY, not a Republican, not a Democrat, A FUCKING GUY ) was stupid enough to spread pics of his toolkit on the web, well, stay away from this thread.

The guys have a political career that will be affected, that's true but, there's no reason for anybody to use this thread to shove his political views in other people's throat. You guys can discuss the effect on his political career but, I won't allow partisan talk and assumptions he did whatever because he is from whatever orientation and whatever orientation is narrow-minded and the other is better. You guys get the picture...

Now, back to roasting weiners. No more "my views are better than yours" and "it's his fault, he's a stupid <place political orientation here>". This isn't a political discussion board so I will certainly not spend most of my time playing referee in political threads.

Thanks

could you believe that this discussion is still going on..lol.
he wont resign, or be forced to resign..he barely did anything wrong!...how could he be compared to other politicians that slept with boys like people in the church, how could he be compared to politicians that slam gay marriages..but are in fact closet homosexuals.....
how could he be compared to politicians that cheated on their wives, and had offspring with maids..and other anonymous ladies....
all weiner did was take a picture of his underwear..oh,he just happened to have an erection behind it..who cares.
in my generation, sending pictures of yourself naked via text is a common thing.
i think some people need to get their priorities straight..there are much bigger things happening before our eyes that nobody seems to want to aknowledge, but yet we will constantly speak about a mans underwear....no wonder the real crooks can keep screwing us in office..the people are completely misdirected, brainwashed, and seemingly lost.!

Hello Ricky,

Well, that's keeping this whole thing within the it's just "A FUCKING GUY" framework of discussion...lol...though it does show how trivial this episode really is when given some broader perspective. Let's not get into any of that.

I guess I'm just one of the few who haven't sent any photos of myself over any of the new technology, though some of Montreal's finest have sent me some....thank you. I sure wouldn't send anything sexually suggestive, especially when you never know who may get it.

Weiner never did anything illegal. It just a matter of one's moral point of view at this time. I think he is perfectly right to let his voters decide, and hopefully this episode won't be used any longer to promote anyone's political agendas. This whole thing is really a matter of sensibilities over the boundaries of marriage and new socialization methods. I find some of it a bit distasteful, but that's my opinion. Unless Weiner does something illegal or against Congressional ethics everyone should let the voters decide what to do with him.

Cheers,

Merlot

mind you i didnt mention any specific political group or member by name.....its all just general comparison.
im just amazed that the picture in question is of a mans underwear.....
lets say it would have been a full erect member..standing up in all its glory..fully in the nude..then i would be more of a critic myself, regarding the issue.
but it wasnt.

Supposedly Weiner did send a naked weiner picture, according to Andrew Breitbart, who claims to have a photo of Weiner's.

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Breitbart-Says-Hes-Holding-X-Rated-Weiner-Photo-123330038.html

You draw an interesting line.

I look at this a bit differently. I think that the person who did this is must more interesting than what he did. If you lived in NY, you would understand what I am saying. Weiner is a political attack dog. He is the first politician always calling for his opposition's head. Now, that the tables are turned, he is resisting pressures to be forced out. If it was Conservative Congressman Peter King of Long Island who was accused of doing this, Weiner would have been the first to do call for a resignation.

What he did was trivial. But he is an employee of the Government. As I said in this thread before, employees have been fired because they used company equipment to look at porn, etc. Why should a Congressman be different if he did use Government equipment?

like I said before, he is hoping and praying some other big news story will come along
so he can get some breathing room.

Pelosi wants him gone but his constituents don't.
at first I wanted him to resign, but now I want him to stay.
F the hypocrites in congress,
let the district decide.

he cant be fired ... he was voted in ... this is America and that's the best system in the world. its not perfect.
he lied about sending a cock picture,
Im sure he doesnt want this story to get any bigger,
but if they force him to resign,
he should be allowed to get on the floor of the Capitol and call out all the hypocrites in some wacko Jimmy Stewart speech.
